Listening live, not archive! Greetings Kurt and all.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Scott Williams:

It's true, it is him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Scott Williams:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Scott Williams:

Hi Kurt
Avatar 3:15pm Mark Helsten:

It's like freaky Friday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm DCE:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm DCE:

my world has gone tipsy turkey
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Scott Williams:

Avatar 3:17pm Mark Helsten:

You are freaking me out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm common:

who is this?
Avatar 3:18pm Mark Helsten:

"Hello?" "Hello?" "there's nobody on the line"
Avatar 3:18pm steve:

ooh yes i can dig it
Avatar 3:18pm steve:

more buzzy sounds
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm DCE:

Ivor, one of the most prolific nutcases ever
Avatar 3:21pm βrian:

Ach, I missed Ivor!
Avatar 3:23pm kat330:

Hi, Kurt and people! (not to suggest you aren't a person, Kurt)

Speaking of missing, I came on to specifically click a track I don't see in the playlist.
Avatar 3:23pm Kurt Gottschalk:

ok, i'm back as me!
Avatar 3:24pm dk:

For those playing the home version of the game, Narayana's Cows at the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences:

Avatar 3:24pm Mark Helsten:

It's like reassignment surgery!
Avatar 3:25pm kat330:

The wonderful piece between Younghearts and Sciarrino -- Sun Ra?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Lewis:

Ok - this is cool in a weird sort of way. It also makes me want to hear Garland Hirschi's' cows
Avatar 3:27pm Kurt Gottschalk:

no - it was the prologue for the sciarrino piece!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Mike East:

loving this!
Avatar 3:27pm kat330:

Ahhh, OK, cool, except there's no clickin' star for that piece, heh!
Avatar 3:28pm Kurt Gottschalk:

well, it's the prologue and first scene of one long piece. still counts as a click, i'd think.
Avatar 3:29pm kat330:

Nevermind...it's fixed.

I was in the kitchen pressing a dozen limes and while the Sciarrino was emitting bird sounds, there was a hawk in our backyard emitting very similar sounds.
Avatar 3:31pm kat330:

I still think I'm mixed up on tracks. It was an extended *jazz* piece I'm talking about. And I thought I heard you say something about Sun Ra... or I'm just being birdbrained.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Good afternoon, Kurt and fellow crime-fighters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm adrian in mpls:

someone came into my office during the bird sounds....they were very confused
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm adrian in mpls:

@kat330 - bryce played some sun ra - maybe it was that?
Avatar 3:33pm kat330:

Ohh, so his show really did extend over? But no, I heard the Younghearts before the track of which I speak, so maybe I heard back announcing on that, but the Younghearts wasn't played before and after Bryce left, right?
Avatar 3:34pm kat330:

I do quite like this, too. Sort of klezmer.
Avatar 3:35pm dk:

today's theme: recursion.
Avatar 3:36pm βrian:

So was that strictly sampled? Or performed live. Sounded like violin and clarinet but very hard to be certain.
Avatar 3:36pm steve:

you can't understand recursion without recursion
Avatar 3:36pm Kurt Gottschalk:

narayana's cows, brian? all multi-tracked saxophones.
Avatar 3:37pm βrian:

Thanks. What fun!
Avatar 3:40pm kat330:

I guess the only way I'll stop my curiosity and get to the bottom of this doggone mystery is to hear the archive later.
Avatar 3:41pm Kurt Gottschalk:

kat, i'm not sure what you heard but there was nothing particularly jazzy after the younghearts. there was before, tho. maybe your stream hiccupped?
Avatar 3:41pm dk:

thanks to this program, my computer is now beating its brains out inefficiently computing the difference in growth rates between the fibonacci sequence and narayana's cows.
Avatar 3:42pm kat330:

@Kurt: Miguel. As good an explanation as any. Had some pulsing stream outages yesterday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Lewis:

I am sitting in a room?
Avatar 3:46pm βrian:

Tell me what's the matter with whir and clatter?
Avatar 3:50pm kat330:

I hear John Waters voice in Mr. Collins'.
Avatar 3:50pm Mark Helsten:

Almost an hour without any commentary... Maybe Kurt was in fact abducted?
Avatar 3:52pm Kurt Gottschalk:

i nevver talks
  3:53pm from Quebec:

no, John Waters' voice was heard just before (or was it just after?) the Younghearts
Avatar 3:55pm kat330:

Très drôle, Quebec personne.
  3:59pm P-90:

OK, I was away for a while. So I missed a John Waters spoken word thing and a "secret" Sun Ra track? And there's a math assignment about cows? Oh, and is Scott still pretending to be Kurt?
Avatar 4:00pm kat330:

@P-90: There will be a pop quiz at 5:30 pm EDT.
Avatar 4:01pm Sem Chumbo:

Program! Get yer program program!
  4:01pm Dean:

Is this a time-lapse of every Mork & Mindy episode?
Avatar 4:07pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar 4:08pm βrian:

Braunian motion?
Avatar 4:08pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar 4:09pm kat330:

Hope she has a glass of water nearby. (Closer than Rubio had his.)
Avatar 4:11pm kat330:

Her lips are ju sei.
Avatar 4:16pm βrian:

That hurt.
Avatar 4:19pm kat330:

Are you asking me to stop what I'm, doing?
Avatar 4:21pm Kurt Gottschalk:

you can stop or not but mcgruff the crime dog is watching, right over there.
Avatar 4:21pm βrian:

Bosco! Bosco!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Carmichael:

I was about to say hello to all, but then got lost in the comments. Literally.
Avatar 4:23pm βrian:

Avatar 4:23pm kat330:

Bosco. Hm, 50 shades of chocolate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm common:

Avatar 4:30pm kat330:

@Kurt: If McGruff investigates word crimes, he should team up with Weird Al. And cuff me for my errant comma at 4:19.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm common:

my co-worker just placed a beer in my hand. how great.
Avatar 4:38pm βrian:

Better than your hand in a beer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm Carmichael:

Avatar 5:14pm Mark Helsten:

Barry Andrews was in League of Gentlemen on keys. He was also in first incarnation of XTC, and then later in Shriekback. Cool. I did not know this.
Avatar 5:15pm Mark Helsten:

(did not know he played w Fripp)
Avatar 5:16pm kat330:

That Fripp was in a league of its own. Star clicked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm Carmichael:

Those gentlemen are Les Garcons de le Plage, the French Beach Boys.
Avatar 5:17pm kat330:

@Carm: Ah, then they are Nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Carmichael:

Here's the link that explains all: rutlesriki.wikia.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Carmichael:

Avatar 5:24pm kat330:

Oh oui oui, the Rutles. Thanks, Carm, for jarring my Fawlty memory.
Avatar 5:30pm kat330:
