Skittles is a happy name.

Today I was pleasantly surprised at receiving my Underwater Dog t-shirt. I think it's the first time I received a premium before the marathon was over.

I've never been known as a techno-savvy, but tonight is a first. I'm listening via the WFMU Android app and have connected my phone to an external speaker system. Concert hall in a phone -sounds much better than computer speakers.

Mrs P:

I still miss the Vicki and Bethany lineup. Is anybody at WFMU in touch with her? So happy to have Bethany here still with her musical treasures and wisdom.

I'm going to get the Four Seascapes on my IPod as soon as your program is over.

Deutschland, and Polska! A new appreciation for *Central* Europe...I want to visit Austria and Czech/Bohemia sometime!

I always thought the profound and the absurd were kinda similar...

Hello Matt. I hope you are having a wonderful trip. My husband and I visited Berlin this past May and still talk about it with reverence. How nice of you to stay up late to listen with us!
Avatar 8:46pm
Matt from Springfield in Germany:

Thanks Mrs. P! (Although, I flew back to the USA on Saturday ;) Still, I enjoyed Berlin so much, and felt disappointed I couldn't make it to Potsdam. A good trip should immediately give you ideas upon leaving what to see the *next* time you return! :)

...is it ignorant to say I'm put in mind of 'Night on Bald Mountain' ? I have a new idea of what Strauss is about !...

Fucking great show. I used to run a comic store in Brooklyn Height's, and I always insisted on a performance when any of the St. Ann's kids came in with an instrument. One rosy cat took out his French horn and played a haunting Sibelius piece evoking the arctic
Avatar 8:49pm
Matt from Springfield in Germany:

@Todd: What a cool (or should I say *cold*) cat! How lovely to suddenly get a Sibelius performance on French horn.

My friend Nadine's father Fred, with the OSS, commandeered Richard Strauss's home and ushered him out to a detention facility. Fred was an opera fan & was very pleased to meet him, but had to take care of business 1st.

The French Horn players of the Boston Symphony Orchestra used to have an ongoing "bet" that they would all go out to dinner at one of the best restaurants in town if they got through a concert without anyone making a flub. They rarely had to pay off...
