"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

John Allen:

well, there is a thematic motif that really sticks, but do you mean in a little "too close for comfort" way?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36am
Fuzzy:

This must be John Cage!
Avatar 6:36am
Meatfucker:

Oh, not at all, just made my brain go *ding* I could see a show opening to this.
Avatar 6:37am
Meatfucker:

Especially if you were to cut the whole song up and use bits of it for commercial intros and outros.

Meatfucker:

Avatar 6:39am
Meatfucker:

Just a weird form of nostalgia I think
Avatar 6:39am
John Allen:

marmalade kitty:

Do you prefer the cat or the dog t-shirts?
Avatar 7:35am
John Allen:

good point MK. although I've taken a stand and prefer to not to perpetuate the whole this or that/ dog or cat thing
  7:38am
marmalade kitty:

I prefer the "cat" one, but can some one explain how a pyramid is a cat?
Avatar 7:41am
John Allen:

I cannot. a pyramid is here, and a sphinx is over there. two very different things
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50am
Sem Chumbo:

@MK: I think the wits at 'FMU T-shirt Design Central might have been linking the "Dogs have owners, cats have staff" meme to this notion: In Illuminati conspiracy theories the presence of a pyramid usually represents the top-down command structure of the Illuminati rulers of the universe. The theory has become more mainstream following the rise of the Occupy Wall Street movement who refer to the rulers as the One Percent."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50am
George of Troy:

Thought you might follow up the Kozelek with some War on Drugs (I jest, I jest...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52am
AndrewC.:

Cats are (a bit) pyramid shape when they sit down. Mine is anyway. But it is a bit overweight.
