Avatar 12:07am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Peace be witchu.
Avatar 12:13am bobdoesthings:

you got the new solja'boy?
Avatar 12:17am Wm.:

HAR-DEE FREAKIN' HAR...I liked hip-hop when it was relevant. OOPS! I like S'morez...check 'em out; they are something actually NEW in that field.
  12:18am Mike K.:

I'm listening in real time for a change tonight
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19am Ken From Hyde Park:

Just saw Dave Hill's bit on @midnight. Check Comedy Central in a couple hours for the rerun.
Avatar 12:20am Wm.:

That Mike / Kallathon?
  12:21am Mike K.:

No Mike Krause (DF guy)
Avatar 12:22am Wm.:

Oh hey, man! What time am I on there? 11? ...I only asked b/c I haven't talked to the Kallathon guy in a few, thought it might be him. BUT YOU ARE JUST AS GOOD, OR BETTER!
  12:23am Mike K.:

Im usually listening to a show my friend Ken Wong does on WLUW in town on the same time as your show called "Reality Radio".
Avatar 12:24am Rev. Turnip Druid:

What Mike said (12:18) - usually an archive lurker, but certain votey events have the Rev working mega-late. Good to dig this in (un)real time.
  12:25am Mike K.:

11pm here. thanks.
Avatar 12:25am Wm.:

This is pre-fab reality for sure. In my mind, I am transmitting from the Carpathians.
Avatar 12:27am bobdoesthings:

@mike k. - you do realize that that is impossible right?
  12:29am Mike K.:

this piano section here reminds me a little of some pieces from SEMA. if anyone remembers them .???
  12:30am Mike K.:

whats impossible?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31am northguineahills:

SEMA is still around and kicking in Brooklyn.
  12:31am Mike K.:

news to me !
  12:33am Mike K.:

ill be back in a bit , i making my self a sandwich....
Avatar 12:34am bobdoesthings:

impossible is half hour time zones
Avatar 12:34am bobdoesthings:

not how we does it
Avatar 12:35am Wm.:

I asked what time I was on there. Mike replied 11. It's 12 on the East Coast. No problem. bobneedssleep and/or a snarkectomy...
Avatar 12:37am Wm.:

I hate it when people just chime in on this board to correct others or say sarcastic shit. It's WAY too easy, much harder to be funny / astute, or actually say something that applies to the show. No half-hour time zones? God, you're so SMART!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41am Ken From Hyde Park:

Dave Hill fans assemble here - www.cc.com...
Avatar 12:44am bobdoesthings:

Oh COOL! So I am smart. I knew it all along. Finally some validation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45am northguineahills:

Nepal is the only time zone I can think of that is a x .5 hours off of everyone else's nope, it's 3/4th off/
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am Ike:

Newfoundland is half off.
Avatar 12:47am bobdoesthings:

@northguinea... - yeah no wm. was right to call me out. i didnt read the previous comment.. just saw the other dudes comment and thought I was witty.. I guess I'm a jerk for that?!?! Idk...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48am Rory:

Oh for fucks sake! Just drop it and enjoy the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48am northguineahills:

Ok, I'm a geographer, so I should no this, Howe Island and the Chatman Islands are 3/4th of an hour off. Venezuela, Newfoundland, India, Myanmar, Iran and Central Australia is 1/2 hour off.
Avatar 12:49am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Been caught up in image research on WWI gas attacks in Europe, with all this heaviness boiling away in the headphones. It works.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49am Ken From Hyde Park:

I was looking at some time zone map the other day when DST finished. There are a few places that have half-hour time zones. NGH probably summed them up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50am northguineahills:

Apparently, I care for the trivial, it's one of the few things I'm good at. Stochastical scraps of knowledge on the WFMU comments boards is one of the few ways I learn stuff these days.
Avatar 12:51am Wm.:

I'm half-off. Like day-old sushi. Rev, ever hear "Victims of a Gas Attack" by NineShocksTerror? Love to play it, but I doubt it's here. ...my copy @ home.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51am northguineahills:

...and being wrong, for me, is the best way to sear into my memory, new knowledge.
Avatar 12:53am bobdoesthings:

@northguin.. thanks i thought all time zones worked by one hour ... i always wonder what its like to live along the dividing line.. weird
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53am northguineahills:

Rev, the images w/ the horse - specific gas masks and the cavalry officers is tre effed. (and the ones w/ the dogs)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am northguineahills:

Russia, should be 13 time zones, until 2009, they were 11, and now they are 8. China should be 6 time zones, but is one (that says a lot).
Avatar 12:55am Rev. Turnip Druid:

I've not heard that one, WB. Curious now… And yep, NGH, that's exactly where I was headed. The weird portraits of troops with horses, all masked. Wonderful stuff.
Avatar 12:56am bobdoesthings:

@northguinea--- weird..
Avatar 12:56am Rev. Turnip Druid:

That death-rattle bass (primitive man track) is a gas-attack right there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59am northguineahills:

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History has a good podcast series on WWI, and not too biased one way or another (albeit leaning to the idea of the futility of the whole war, and the mistakes made), and his podcasts on the Mongol Empire are recommended.
Avatar 1:00am Wm.:

Do send links! I'm a gas-mask photo addict. Ever see the one with the couple kissing, mask to mask? I guess that's more "art," as opp. to a field shot, but it's a marvelously creepy aesthetic vision. ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02am northguineahills:

The Rev probably has them more ready. I just remember from hardcopy books.
  1:04am Mike K.:

Avatar 1:04am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Not familiar with the podcasts but sounds very groovy.
…just remembered my old gas-mask avatar from ages ago… [presto change-o]
Avatar 1:04am bobdoesthings:

alright. dead duck in a sea of death....i'll be listening but i need to drown out now ... adios
  1:04am Mike K.:

crap! dead link I posted!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07am Ike:

For creepy-ass British WWII gas-mask monsters, see Doctor Who's "The Empty Child," 2005. It's on Netflix Instant....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07am Rory:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07am northguineahills:

gas masmashable.com... fetish, what about this?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am northguineahills:

@Rev: for the Mongol Horde, 4 parts, about 16 hours. www.dancarlin.com...
Avatar 1:12am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Jeezus that's awesome NGH.
I'll have to slurp up the rest of tonight's Castle in archives. Election-night shift is over for me, & falling sideways into a crusty coma is happening soon. …. Brilliant sounds, Boss Berger.
Avatar 1:13am Wm.:

Thx Rev, sleep tight
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20am northguineahills:

Unlike Pat Boone, I'm not usually in a metal mood (scores of exceptions notwithstanding)/ This is perfect tonight, Wm, danke!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22am northguineahills:

Even my wife isn't complaining. Nice and cleansing.
Avatar 1:26am Wm.:

I try to make all this stuff "palatable," in the way sets are assembled, even to typically unfriendly ears, so thanks!
  1:33am Mike K.:

keyboards in this track work well . i dont like them in Metal much of the time
Avatar 1:36am Wm.:

Yes, this guy has a solid sound, does the post-shoegaze-black thing nicely. ...
  1:43am Mike K.:

common question im sure, but what is tonight's' show pic from ?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51am Rory:

I agree Wm. The Lords of Salem was pretty good. A friend of mine recommended that I see it. Not the biggest Rob Zombie fan myself although I did like House of 1000 Corpses.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53am northguineahills:

Digging One Dark Eye, however, off to my slumber, thanks Wm!
Avatar 1:56am Wm.:

Yes, House of 1,000 Corpses is very good, too. When he was still in his "homage" phase, wearing his influences nicely on his sleeve, and not taking himself too seriously. Now, he's an auteur!
  2:00am Mike K.:

wow I was not thinking it was a R. Zombie film at all. i saw a few seconds of it flipping through cable channels one night but ill have to give it another view in full .
Avatar 2:01am Wm.:

Lords of Salem's all-star 70s-80s cast: Bruce Davison, Judy Geeson, Meg Foster, Ken Foree, Dee Wallace, Maria Conchita Alonso, Michael Berryman, Sid Haig.
  2:04am Mike K.:

oh yes- Dee Wallace from the Howling . Ken Foree rules ov course !
  2:08am hi:

kiev, wow. don't know what to say given current events. thanks for playing.
  2:21am Mike K.:

always loved P16.D4. nice.
Avatar 2:22am Wm.:

I had a funny feeling that would grab you. Big fan here as well!
  2:24am Mike K.:

i haven't heard a track from them i didnt like
