My first visit to the Avant Ghetto. Hello Jeff Conklin and all on the board.

hey hey

rw:

Hello Jeff Conklin and all here. Congratulations Jeff on securing a regular time slot! At this hour I will be only a semi-regular listener and probably only for the first few minutes... But I do regularly listen to the archive while sitting in traffic (which seems to be getting worse this time of year). Not like listening live though. Don't know what it is about live...
  3:26am
rw:

Thanks for the Palmer memorial. RIP.

Jeff Conklin:

Welcome, Mugsy! Grab a cup of something and settle in. Hiya, abra!

I'll take yr listenership in any time/space, rw, thanks!

zclauterbach:

nice rag lore jam. haven't heard this one before, but really dig their cabin floor esoterica tape from earlier this year.
Avatar 3:34am
Jeff Conklin:

The Rag Lore project is pretty new to me, Matthew recently got in touch and sent me this tape and that real nice one he did for Cabin Floor Esoterica--a mighty fine label!
Avatar 3:35am
Mugsy:

Is this still Rag Lore? I like this very much.
Avatar 3:36am
Jeff Conklin:

I agree, rw, live radio is the best but we make do with the time we have, don't we? Some of my favorite radio programs are impossible for me to catch live if I'm employed.

Yes, Mugsy, it is! A nice long piece so I can collect myself and finish my third cup of coffee of the morning!

Jeff, here 'cause I dig what you're doing. Your show is a fine soundtrack to my work this time of the day, and is the basis of a "I gotta know more about THIS" list:-D

Whoah, glad to be of service, Sem.

the Canterbury wood-elf:

Greetings, Jeff, Pierre and all. I'm doing exceptionally well, still buzzing from having seen the first Henry Cow (and associates) gig in 36 years on Friday night (wow!!). AND I got to meet Robert Wyatt briefly last night, what a lovely bloke...

AWW, just realised why all the Clive Palmer at the top of the playlist. RIP CP...

Martin:

Hi Jeff
This show got linked to on the Yahoo ISB website and I am so glad I listened in. Your Clive Palmer tribute was very touching and rather better than the BBC effort last week. And the rest of the show was just the ticket too. You may be half a world away but I felt at home. And I recall Robin Williiamson's lyrics " Everywhere will be my native home".
Thank you. You have gained a fan.
All the best
Martin Zukor
P.S. A couple of weeks ago I saw this band:
http://varldensband.com/
They were fantastic and seemed the inheritors of the Incredible String Band's project in a way. And young and very good looking with so much energy. Worth checking out.
  5:48am
Alistair:

Nice tribute...thanks. And, as Martin says, the rest of the show's not too shabby either!!! I'll also be listening in from time to time...
