remember from long time ago a pipi longstockings episode where she improvised the word spunk, and then, for a whole episode, went looking what object fit the sound of the word ' spunk' . ever since i was a child, i loved that concept....

it so happens that in the american language ' spunk ' signifies sperm...but for me as a european it is something completely abstract and innocent

I dunno, the sun sets pretty early in Jersey City this time of year too.

Or do you mean the music? Yes, the music seems darker than what you usually play. Must be because i'm in Amsterdam.

@RRN63; yep, that's the pay converted into US dollars. 12-hour shifts taking care of elderly mentally ill people, and we're worth that much. Sheesh. No wonder I had a mental breakdown myself.

When they closed down all the Woolworths in the UK, I wonder if some sales clerk put the X-Ray Spex song on?

Caryn:

@RRN63: hah! Yeah, nursing is a calling, but that calling is seriously called into question when you're cleaning up vomit and blood, dealing with the biter in room 1, the sex offender in room 3, and the 2 patients who liked to cover themselves in their own faeces, while you're being paid a pittance. Especially on the night shift, when there's 5 people taking care of 25 patients.
