	7:47am the Canterbury wood-elf: I've heard this Göttsching before (and read about its importance in the evolution of electronic dance music), but what I hadn't noticed is the similarity in guitar style to Vini Reilly (Durutti Column).

	7:57am the Canterbury wood-elf: Just been looking into this, and it seems Göttsching and Reilly (and maybe Metheny?) were heavy users of Echoplex delay, which may be a big part of the similiarity.

Probably not on Reich's part, as he had been doing that for years in his phasing phase (don't pardon the pun, it should be shot), but it could have influenced Metheny's handling of it
