  6:37pm
Kevlicki:

I enjoy the sax in young Americans, but I was listening to it 20 years after it was released
Sax in most songs thru the 80's was pretty terrible. I always wondered if there was a sax union that demanded every produced song must have the insteunent incorporated

Santa Claus has a big Sack(x)...
Avatar 6:37pm

Still IS a trip, too!

Avatar 6:42pm

@Mike: Bowie had a nice story to go with that. He produced Lou Reed and wanted a sax solo to fade out. He called up that same guy - who nailed the solo in 1 take. Afterwards he identified himself to Ronnie by asking if he could come around on Saturdays for lessons. He responded "I don't believe it! YOU'RE Ziggy Fucking Stardust??!"
