Hi Sportsytalkers and Sportsylisteners and Sportsycommenters! Happy New Year!

Thought you guys might have played "I Got You Babe" for my Bengals' Groundhog Dayesque Performance :(

I hear the NFL is considering going from 12 playoff teams to 14 in the future. I'd like to know how they'd schedule the playoffs with that many teams. The current 12-team format seems to be working out pretty well.

You guys have all the luck. I wish MY governor was in an owners box...
Avatar 6:13pm
Studio B Ben:

The shame of it is not only did they not call the PI call, but they could have called defensive holding for grabbing the Lions player jersey, or Unsportsmanlike for Dez coming onto the field without a helmet to argue about it.

Still Angry Jets Fan:

Must we have the camera on the owners box to see jerry jones celebrating? I hTe that!

(that was New Orleans with the power outage - last year's Super Bowl had the brilliant transit situation)

Did the refs have some fun on Jerry Jones' party bus before the game? More controversy!

There were a million things that were penatlies when the Bengals did them that the refs totally let go in the Bengals game :(

I opened the windows and looked around me all the time when I was with friends and family visiting Detroit this past Christmas, and it is not all decay and destruction. It is there living and breathing by all means, but Jim has only sees the city as destroyed, gone, nothing more. Jim is blind to the heart and grit of the people that exist there, creating and fighting the odds of media bias and hipster better than thou attitudes he embodies!

Am I the only one that saw the Lions receiver face-masking the Cowboys defender on that recalled penalty?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

The NFL Network played the Dallas and then the Detroit radio commentaries of the PI play. They each called quite differently, as you may expect.

Basically, the FA cup starts w/ divison 10 (conference).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm
Kali G:

People in Detroit listen to FMU via the internet, but with the sucky attitude Jim has toward the city, why should they support this show, and why should they show up and give anything during the Marathon? There are consequences to the uppity attitudes toward the working and middle class folks of the Motor City by a DJ sports hipster wearing New York centric social blinders.

I can be an A-hole when the city I'm from gets marginalized or seen in one dimension on this show, but I love this show, I listen whenever I can. Yes, Detorit has huge problems and way too much decay, but 5 to 6 hundred thousand still live, work and create there. So sorry for being harsh toward Jim and the show, OK, he's not a hipster, for Brownyn does not lie. Please go there this coming spring or summer, do a show there, I think you will see the other side, and the people there will embrace you. Plus, no matter what, I will always support FMU, just not sure about this show for now. Take care and Love really, you know, Detroit Love, a kiss with leather studs!

Redkayak, I didn't watch, but if by "facemasking" you mean not grabbing the face mask, but face GUARDING, the NFL legalized face guarding against receptions around the turn of the century.

When I was a kid, we used to say booyow, which I think is much better than booyah or booyeah.
  6:45pm
Robert:

Face guarding is one of those things that the rules makers are ambivalent about in the long run. NCAA last year for the 1st time made it pass interference. NFL & the NFSHSA for a long time had it as interference, but NFL changed it to no longer be interference ~2000. Canadian football has long had it as interference.

He did the NY Stars (WFL) too (with Emerson Boozer). I used to like Sterling, at least for baseball, but that time is long past. Last year I listened to Yankees-Mets on the Mets station and was amazed how much more they told about the game.

lot of Cowboys fans his age - Super Bowl VI he'd be age 9 or so

Jiggs McDonald did the game last night and is a hockey broadcasting great. He did the Islanders games during the dynasty years.

The hockey games Sterling used to do were of the WHA team, whose original name slips my mind now but changed to the Golden Blades.
