Morning gang. We've got Mr. Airplane live today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06am
Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Nate. Good morning. Looking forward to hearing M.A.M.!
  6:13am
Dickard Scmrckkckc:

Singer sounds like the Dead Moon guy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23am
Nate K:

@Dickard, it is the Dead Moon guy! I believe Zipper was Fred Cole's pre-Rats band.
  6:24am
Tomek:

Polish tunes from 60s on WFMU? Weird :) I thought I changed station by mistake :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27am
Nate K:

@Tomek. That sounds about right for WFMU.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31am
Nate K:

And what just happened also sounds about right for WFMU! : )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32am
fred:

Good morning Nate, guten TZAG listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42am
fred:

Where does that "burn it down" sound bite come from? It's one of my favorite on the station, up there with the best Rex ones
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43am
Nate K:

Hey Fred. Glad you like it, I like it, too. It's from a TV show called "Enlightened."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49am
fred:

Thanks Nate. I looked at the wikipedia page about that show, is that Laura Dern?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56am
Nate K:

Indeed it is. I was surprised how much I liked that show. It was created by Mike White who was one of the "Freaks and Geeks" guys, if that means anything to you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02am
fred:

It doesnt. I don't watch TV or movies anymore, I like radio much better. The last movie I saw was Inland Empire, when it came out, which is almost a decade ago. So Laura Dern sure is familiar
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16am
Nate K:

"Freaks and Geeks" is better than TV.
Avatar 7:49am
duke:

Waiting for the man...Mr. Airplane Man that is
Avatar 7:50am
SmokinJ:

Me too! Mornin' Nate!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am
fred:

Group Inerane are great live, see them if you can
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52am
Nate K:

Welcome @duke and @Smokin'. Coming up soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am
Sem Chumbo:

Cooking this morning, Nate, but what else is new? Lovin' it. Hiya, fred, and pyromaniacs all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55am
fred:

Hiya Sem, hopefully you'll exercise restraint while mixing Burn it down with cooking
  7:56am
Cooh John:

Good morning, glad to see Cbus is represented.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59am
Sem Chumbo:

@fred: working with high temperature baking is always something of a high wire act, there is plenty of skill involved...but then, there is that gust of wind from nowhere:-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11am
Rob W:

Well Nate, have to confess I didn't know this either but according to the "Dusted" blog Inerane is pronounced inner-ANE)" (See www.dustedmagazine.com...)
Avatar 8:13am
duke:

Caught Mr. Airplane Man a few times in Boston. They have always been one of my favorites. I'm glad they're back at it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14am
Nate K:

Thanks Rob W. It's a whole side project learning proper pronunciation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19am
Rob W:

When it comes to difficult pronunciations, I usually just say things fast and try to sound convincing! Curiously, although I now have a day job in public radio where I have to make sure everything is pronounced perfectly, that experience has had no impact on my continued carefree approach to pronunciation on FMU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am
fred:

Proper pronunciation shows respect, but with radio, there's another angle to consider. If the way you say it is wrong but enables listeners to look it up and find out about the record or live shows, that's not so wrong after all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29am
Nate K:

Shameless plug time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31am
fred:

This is a great live set, by the way. Who was the engineer on that? (shameless time, I always try to annoy DJs into crediting them)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am
Glenn L:

@fred.Thanks! It was me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34am
Nate K:

I thought I gave Glenn a shout-out up top. I'm having trouble with the set list info but I'll add him there too. Hi Glenn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36am
Glenn L:

Hey! 2014 Highlight for me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36am
fred:

@Glenn L: great job! It sounds like I'm in the room
@Nate: having the engineer's name on the playlist is what I'm trying to get
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am
Nate K:

Gotcha @Fred. It'll happen.
  8:44am
mike east:

These guys are the best guitar drum duo that came out at a time when there was a lot of competition. Thanks Nate and Glenn for bringing them this morning
Avatar 8:46am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am

I didn't believe my ears when I heard they were gonna be on. Unfortunately forgot until that last track. Will this be archived?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am
Glenn L:

@mike east. DAMN WELL BETTER BE!
Avatar 8:50am
duke:

If they're in the future, does that mean we're in the past?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am
Nate K:

@Mike, yes it'll be archived for sure. Probably in about an hour.
