Amanda:

Hi bpd! I'm back! (Your comment seems to be a cultural reference that I am not hip to, but I can answer the question implied.)
Avatar 11:58am
bpd:

Not really. Just undercaffinated and punchy. But hooray!

Country music was a little cooler in England back then.
Avatar 12:16pm
KP:

For some reason country and related never really clicked in England. I think they never forgave us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm

Boldly go, Amanda!

Weird Al's first record was my first vinyl purchase. Still somewhere @ my dad's house.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Amanda:

I'm not sure if I love Weird Al or Huey Lewis more, but luckily they can coexist on that one record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm

(i agree with josh)

I think they reished that Else Marie purely in hopes that someone would use it in transition from a Weird Al cut
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm

it's not as bad as a doctor "correcting" you when you call him "mr. _".

I'd love to attend the Simpsons meet-up, but I can only send my best wishes that it turns out well. Let us know if there are pictures of the event.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm

Likewise; Brooklyn midweek is rough for this NJ dweller. Hugely supportive of the concept, though!

Amanda, is "Children Of Australia" (the flip side) any good?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm
listener james from westwood:

Amanda's playing the elephant song again. Makes me think of elephants.
Avatar 12:43pm
ndbob:

I see a set filled with rodent references:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Amanda:

@efd, "Children of Australia" is a bit jingoistic for me, but it's interesting as a historical document.

EVery Mother's Son! They recorded something else?

(I was referring to the s/t one that Carmichael and Amanda were referencing)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm
Amanda:

Right u are, ndbob! This was their first one.
  1:06pm
Dean:

Musso & Frank is *so* fun. Amoeba opened, naturally, the year after we left L.A., dagnabbit. There are a handful of less exhaustive record stores: Record Surplus on Santa Monica Blvd. (alas, a shadow of its former Pico site), Soundstations near LAX, etc.
Avatar 1:07pm
ndbob:

Don't think I've ever heard the second one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm
Dominick:

Yes, 2nd LP "Every Mother's Son's Back" Both produced by Wes Farrell, who also wrote "Come on Down". You could see they were real young in session photos taken by engineer George Showerer on Spectropop. Another great EMS song "Put Your Mind at Ease"
Avatar 1:08pm
Carmichael:

Boy, this sounds more like the Four Seasons than the Foundations. Is that Clem Curtis singing?
