Live Performance by Pink Painful

Post-punk/shoegaze duo Pink Painful meld a bit of New Order and The Cocteau Twins with touches of and Motorhead to create their slowdance sound. Monica Velasquez (Rexxy) and Ian Peksa (ex-Goodnight Darlings, Small Devices) blend bass with soaring, reverb-drenched vocals, meshed together with driving drums. Pink Painful calls Brooklyn their home, and they drove out to WFMU for a live performance.

Toyah.
- i have nothing against her. she seems like a good person; it's just that i think her music is just standard pop...nothing groundbreaking, like that of Robert Fripp.
( i know nothing of her acting career.)

Hi again everybody! Just cleaning up from the live performance so I'm way behind in comments. Julie, we missed you in studio but glad you tuned in. Yeah, a bit more shoe-gazy/dance-y than usual. But I gotta shake things up every so often. Polyus, glad you got to see Olivia! sorry I couldn't make the shows myself. She's a treasure! And Van, no surprise about the KT DVD. They're probably laboring over every edit. It'll be worth the wait. Thanks also Wilson, Ken, Marianna, Coelacanth, gongoleer, Matt, Revolution Rabbit, Jake, jon, Tommy, adrian-- who am I forgetting?

From the album "Low-Life", released May 85. Bit later than I thought, but that seems to have some great songs on it: "Love Vigilantes" (original recording!), "Shellshock" on the deluxe edition.
Avatar 10:38pm
