Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Clay Pigeon - Washington's Birthday
That's it for this episode of The Dusty Show. Thank you for checking it out, and if you are reading this, thank you for your extra layer of interest. I had a cold the last couple of days and it's lingering. And it's cold outside. And Marathon is coming, and I am behind. Way behind ... newsflash91.1 - CC7 is behind schedule. There. I said it. It's behins schedule. I haven't even culled the songs that will be featured on this lucky seventh edition. No artwoek yet, no bonus CD. So much to do and so little time,

With this being said, I want you to know that I do miss (to a degree) the highly edited analog shows. But, my tape player is down and I need to reach the only repairman I know who is perhap fifty miles and several yards away. Mark Slaughter. The Magic Man. I also miss the street interviews but it has been so cold that it precludes much outdoor taping. Indoors, there always blaring some music and you KNOW how I like to put my own musical selections in the background. And how about that freaking KISS tonight, huh? How 'bout it, Huh? How about the job it did tonight, Huh? I had never actually heard The Elder before. Well, maybe I have heard "I" which is from The Elder, so it's not completely true. But I certainly had NOT heard Odyssey and I am really impressed with it and with the production job Bob Ezrin did. The only KISS LP that isn't certified Gold. Figures it would be good, huh? How bout' it, huh? Anyway ... I guess that's it. I thank you again for listening. Drop me a line sometime. I'd love to hear from some familiar and some new people. dusty@wfmu.org ... you can also find me on Facebook at Pigeonnaires. It might be Pigoennaires39 or something like that. I don;t have the stinking link. I am also on Twitter Claypigeon@WFMU and .... that's all .... good night ... take care .... always remember ... Leslie Gore ... Hunter S. Thompson ... Gene Siskel ... Sandra Dee

I absolutely LOVE this song and album. It is in fact a cover song. The Elder was to be a movie with Chris Makepeace as the "hero" character. Lou Reed co-wrote a few songs on this album. Some of the heaviest and lightest material ever released by the band all wrapped up in one concept record

"At that time he was simply trying to find a way to talk, to communicate with other people. That's what Trans is all about. And that's why, on that record, you know I'm saying something but you can't understand what it is. Well, that's exactly the same feeling I was getting from my son."

“We didn't spend as much time recording Re-ac-tor as we should've. The life of both that record and the one after it - Trans - were sucked up by the regime we'd committed ourselves to. See, we were involved in this programme with my young son Ben for 18 months which consumed between 15 and 18 hours of every day we had. It was just all-encompassing and it had a direct effect on the music of Re-ac-tor and Trans. You see, my son is severely handicapped, and at that time was simply trying to find a way to talk, to communicate with other people. That's what Trans is all about. And that's why, on that record, you know I'm saying something but you can't understand what it is. Well, that's the exact same feeling I was getting from my son.” www.thrasherswheat.org...

I really liked that Bush song before. My first concert was. little basement coffee house in cranford nj performance by Buzzy Linhart, fall 1972. I was 14 years old aspiring to be a rock star myself.
