Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am Risky:

Is it bad I forget image searching for titles like 'cadaver eyes' and 'x ray burns' always lead to 'shit daayum.' moments...
Avatar 12:48am Wm.:

I've spent too much time on rotten.com to care anymore...does that still exist, btw?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49am Risky:

Lmao. Good question, I hope not but I'm sure theirs like a network now.
Avatar 12:51am Wm.:

Still there, that lovely, clunky html! Look at this, or don't - poetry.rotten.com... ...lately I'm really into maggots eating necrotic flesh / dead skin; wanna get some for the bottoms of my feet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52am Risky:

Yo Wm. "shit dayum!!".
(I exited double-time)
Avatar 12:53am Wm.:

  12:53am JakeGould:

William, isn’t there some spa treatment where they soak your feet in a small tub of fish that just eat the dead skin off your feet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53am Risky:

That's some raw and wriggling type shit haha! lmao
Avatar 12:54am Wm.:

Fuck YES~me want. Have seen it on Travel Channel...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- in fact - maggots are known for that - eating only the dead flesh: they find homeless people w/ wounds remarkably clean because of that...
- Lovin' this Mr. W.B. !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- oh - you've been there if I scroll up...
  2:00am Dean:

A couple weeks ago you played a cassette/stream by Chicago's Gidim: http://gidim.bandcamp.com/ I contacted the sole member of the band, bought the cassette, and he burned me a CD to boot. Killer stuff. Thanks for the tip.
Avatar 2:02am Wm.:

That first GIDIM demo is really good, and I believe he recently pressed a few more. The new split tape w/ Leather Chalice is also great. Both outstanding one-man projects.
  2:03am Dean:

Yes, he did press more. Get 'em while they last. Too much goddamned good music, goddamnit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10am Ike:

Holy Glob!

Re: maggots, etc., I would like to turn your attention to Flip Side fanzine's "special" issue (no. 3 as I recall), which features a photograph of a suicide with a corner of his head blasted away. That picture was culled from "Techniques of Crime Scene Investigation," a marvelous illustrated textbook for homicide detectives. Back in the late '70s, it was a favorite volume at the library where I worked while I was on the Flip Side staff.
  2:17am Arvo:

I just got here. Sorry I'm late! Looks like I missed a doozy of a show. My train was delayed and riddled with jabbering schizos, one of which almost got pounded by k-9 cops. Need different loudness...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23am Rory:

This is nice
  2:26am Arvo:

This conversation reminds me of The Plasmatics' "Maggots" record, which to me is highly under-rated. I wouldn't mind hearing more story themed records with dialogue interludes and slimy, groaning, highly imaginative if dramatically inaccurate maggot sound effects. I did a track called "Maggot's Drag" once, based off of "Viper's Drag" by Fats Waller. Diggin' it so far Wm!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32am Ike:

Star-click this! Star-click that other thing! And that too! I WILL CONSUME ALL THE MUSICS.
  2:32am Dean:

As always, OED delivers. The etymology of "maggot":

Probably an alteration of maddock n., either by metathesis, or influenced by Magot , Maggot , obsolete pet-form of the female forenames Margery (see margery n.1) and Margaret (see Margaret n.); compare maggot n.2, and for a similar application of a personal name perhaps compare British regional dick , dicky louse: see Eng. Dial. Dict. s.vv. If maggot does arise by metathesis, the intervocalic /ɡ/ can perhaps be compared with that of flagon or sugar , although maggot could simply show retention of the existing voiced/voiceless contrast with metathetic interchange of point of articulation. Compare the 15th-cent. form maked , which could have arisen independently by metathesis from maddock n., or could alternatively show a similar interchange of the voiced/voiceless contrast in the present word (for devoicing of the medial consonant compare modern Somerset macket for maggot n.2).

  2:52am Arvo:

"Immediately, an angel from the Lord killed Herod for not giving glory to God. Herod was eaten by maggots, and he died."
GOD'S WORD® Translation

“How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure? If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in His eyes, how much less a mortal, who is but a maggot—a human being, who is only a worm!” (Job 25:4-6). “But I am a worm and not a man” (Psalm 22:6). “What a wretched man I am!” (Romans 7:24a).

"Therefore I am like maggots to Ephraim, and like rottenness to the house of Judah" (5:12)
Avatar 2:53am Mugsy:

Fine show William, catch you next week.
  2:54am Arvo:

I also bought the GIDIM tape, never heard of 'em before, and they're in my own back yard!
Avatar 2:54am Mugsy:

maggots and feet. very interesting...
  2:59am JakeGould:

Apparently those tint toothless carp that eat dead skin off of your feet are a health risk. Who knew that sticking your bare feet in a tub full of carnivorous fish would be risky? Who KNEW!!?!?! abcnews.go.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00am Rory:

Rory, yes! The rain of maggots scene! I love the way they get wiped off, so the ringing phone can be answered. My favorite Fulci.
  7:41pm Rory:

I knew you would like that Wm. So much hate for "City of the Living Dead" on imdb reviews. Where is the gore? Where are the Zombies? I guess these are the types of people that would rather like to watch 28 days later haha.
Avatar 8:04am SiHV:

Another day on the plague ship. This Dark Blue is good. Is it contemporary? Will look it up.
