I just got the boxed set of Bill Evans at the Village Vanguard and Orrin said they started recording and during the first song, there was a power failure! They put the partial take on the boxed set. Fortunately, it wasn't an omen--the rest of the evening was marvelous, and he recorded it all beautifully.
