The 91.1 transmitter's down to a power outage. There's several thousand locations without power nearby the 91.1 transmitter in West Orange. NJ. High winds are knocking down power lines tonight. Cant get a generator out there tonight but might be able to get one out there tomorrow if PE&G doesnt fix it overnight.
Avatar 9:58pm
Matt from Springfield:

High winds? Stay safe everyone, hopefully power and our transmitter will be up again quickly!

Asterisk grant - I believe it's a tiny sliver from the CPB (as a community broadcaster), the Free Music Archive settlement grant, and the Radio Free Culture grant from NEH a while back.

But those round to ZERO percent of operational budget! That's all from us! So the DJs can do what they want! And whatever they want, is what I want! :D
Avatar 11:01pm

Thank you Van - as my ca$h is tighter now, you're helping out WETA while I prioritize FMU! (Can I also forward their junk mail to you too??...;)

I'm a little late here to the WETA discussion among D.C.ers (I'm originally from Maryland) but I'm sure they do huge amounts of underwriting and probably don't half as much of their budget from listeners as WFMU does. Those classical stations are filthy stinking rich. Not that it's a competition or anything. Ha.

We still get Car Talk reruns on the public radio stations down here because the donors want to hear them.
