Here's a song & dance scene from the Shaolin Soccer movie, if you need material for future video shows - youtu.be...
The big showdown at the end is fun to watch - youtu.be...
My sister e-mailed me a bunch of dog GIFs, some animated. I've no idea about the rights to them. Easiest way to send them would be to forward them so you'd have attachments inside an attachment. Want them?
f0f0, you live in the UK? For some reason I always imagined you living in Sayreville, NJ.

"
Andy B:
Welcome all listeners. My musical heaven is your musical HELL!! My show is smokin'. Your soul is roasting. There will be no Nihilist Spasm Band or Lubricated Goat on this show. Only GOOD music for a change. Suffer!"
Now I'm interested to hear the Lubricated Goat..whatever that means.
No, no April Fool's Day pranks in the works AT ALL. April Fools Day jumped the shark long ago. I heard a fake story on NPR this morning and it turned my stomach.

Ken,
As far as I know I live near Vicki's hangouts. Sayreviling, N.J. sounds like verbal abuse.
f0f0 you;re in Southwest London? You shoulda come to Birmingham last week, we had fun!

I friend once told me (not in April 1st) that Frank Zappa recorded an album that had no music on it. That is, it was a vinyl that had only one final track at the very end of it where you can hear him laughing for a bit before it ended. I think the concept was to mock consumerism. I haven't heard any more about it. Do you guys know of any musical joke? I heard this morning Joni Mitchel was in the hospital. Don't know if that was a joke (who can joke about it?).
Yes! But I'm in the poor side of SW. We can only dream and aspire to be like the folks living in Clapham. I wanted to, but alas, had no time nor money to travel !
I remember the best show the night of the frequency switch. Tom Schaprling seemed incredibly annoyed, turned in a half-hearted performance and started the show with 40 minutes of music, something he hadn't done since he had an all-music show. Yeah, I guess April Fools jumped the shark a while ago. I see a lot less April Fools jokes on the internet this year and the last couple of years. Oh well. I was aware of what day it was had a good time.
Whew. I heard her voice and was afraid she had died during the night.

what a beautiful Joni song. It's been years since I heard one.

Wow, I was wondering who would be playing Joni Mitchell today but I never thought it would be Ken. Excellent.

Exactly, pierre! 'Sex and Broadcasting' needs to be shown in Paris! I mean, sex! French love sex!! Not sure if they love Broadcasting, BUT at least you'd have half an audience in there.
Yeah a lot of DJs here love Joni Mitchell even though she hardly ever gets played. Figured I'd play her before she passes away rather than after. Hope she pulls through.
listening on the train. "there's a weapon that we must use in our defense -" and then nothing. dead air. i thought it was brilliant until i realized the signal had dropped. verizon made a remarkably clean edit for me.

This is how waltzes were meant to be performed. You don't have a waltz if it ain't got that shmaltz.
Thanks, Ken, for your tireless efforts to pull off the marathon. You must go a month non-stop to line things up and all things we listeners don't see. I'm horrible at asking people for money. I'd sign up for fund-raising bike rides and just hand them a check for $150.00.
I agree with Ken above, you guys are phenomenal with the marathon, always keeping the positive energy going. The station just seems to kick ass at everything it puts its mind to.
argh our internet at work keeps crapping out.. an IT guy came and asked our team "is anyone having problems with the internet" I yelled out "yah, too many cat videos!" only 2 people laughed :(
Problem with that idea, pierre, is that just a handful of Europeans know about WFMU. Wouldn't be great if WFMU had a long term strategic goal to open up a franchise in either Paris, London or Berlin?
All those people would have to do is change direction and the hand would never be able to follow them. It's like running down the track in front of a train, instead of just getting off the track.
I'm still waiting for WFMU repeaters to eventually keep working their way up north, and one will end up here eventually.... Eventually. Of course, there's probably an FCC regulation about how far repeaters can be from their source, isn't there?
Actually, Dan B, I can recall from some decades ago reading about satellite-fed supposed FM xltrs that were way, way beyond what anyone could consider the listening area of the primary stn.
I believe WFMU was fined by the UK's Her Majesty Communications Commission as, last week, Ken said several times live on air 'Asshole', instead of 'Arsehole' while back annonuncing 'Ogre You Asshole'.
It's legal because The Man doesn't know it's happening.

cory,
I'm sorry I didn't get the innuendos that stem from your answer, but in any case I'll give you the key to access the fantastic "From Russia With KHLAAAAAAM", a special edition bootleg ZIP featuring never-seen-or-heard-before MP3, photos and videos from the Russian band. Stay tuned next week.
Kat, actually I am not goign to Chicago after all but the doc is - they bumped the doc to 11pm and would not schedule a DJ gig for me, so it's not worth it for me to go, for a short Q&A at 12:45am.
Thanks for your patience Andrew - it's all very complicated and it's totally out of WFMU's control. But it will eventually be released. Just cant accurately say when.
I'm sure the question has been asked 1,000 times, but any chance the doc will be available online, Netflix or something like that?

Ken, people,
I'm afraid to inform 'Sex and Broadcast' has the t.A.T.u. Film Curse! I.e. By the time of its theatrical release there would be released no more WFMU! So let the delay continue!!!
@Polyus it will definitely be released digitally. And the Kickstarter donors will definitely get the DVDs they were promised. I dont know if it will be released commercially on DVD though. (The doc is also playing in Montclair NJ next month, and at the Jersey Shore in June. )

"I never ... intentionally..... lied... . I never... lied... tell the whole truth, no one tells the WHOLE truth.... I never.... intentionally... ....... lied.." That Robert Durst HBO show was sorta mind blowing.
@ken - Yeah.. Really blew my mind.. especially the ending. Don't want to spoil it for anyone.. but hot damn.. all should check out The Jinx if they haven't and can on HBO..
Youtube has a live version of "Dad I'm", in which Don Was plays it differently, less nutz and more hapless. (Dad, I .. No, Dad ... Dad .. uh, put Mom on.")
