Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Artist Track Album Label Year Format Comments
Billy Cobham  Solarization (Excerpt)   Favoriting Total Eclipse  Atlantic  1974  LP  John Abercrombie on guitar. Cobham, immediately after Mahavishnu, was great.

Pidgemixx -------- I had three other ones ready to go for this show and neglected to air them. This was the worst one.

The female vocalist is Thelma Camacho from Kenny Rogers and the First Edition's "2nd" LP.

Cheech and Chong moments.
I am not sure what that collage was about ...
Jimmy Hendrix  Are You Experienced?   Favoriting Are You Experienced?  Reprise  1968  LP  I love this Jimi. Very Beatles-influenced like everything at that time.

Trolling for Calls ...
space music behind dj is "stardrive" 1974

Caller #1 (I think it's Dave)
Crimson Glory  Masque of The Red Death   Favoriting Transcendence  Roadrunner  1988  MP3  Sarasota, FL band. Singer, Midnight, passed away in 2009. Great singer. Always remember.

Live from the Studio - Talking at You
Oasis  Live Forever   Favoriting Definitely Maybe  Creation  1994  MP3  I have a hard time getting people to like Oasis. I just like this song and Liam's cool super-English delivery.

Checkfield (American Gramophone 1987) music behind DJs

I applied for the job of Curator of the Hendrix Collection at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The application only asked two questions. "Are you experienced?" "Have you ever been experienced?" I answered, "Well, I have." Didn't get the job.

in ny they want people to lease solar panels on their homes. but you can't make more energy than your home produces - they don't want to take bread away from the power companies and you still need to be hooked up to the grid. it's baloney.
  6:13pm
P-90:

Yes, the Koch Bros (and others) are working politically to slow adoption of solar, that's not ambiguous or a secret or anything...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm

fuck "hippy-haters"! fuck labeling people "hippies".
one thing is- activists in the 60s weren't afraid to get hurt, imprisoned, maybe killed for what they were passionate about...that's rare in the us today.
  6:14pm

All I have to say about hippies: We could use more hippies. Because you can’t stop the hippies.

@coel: "hippie" is a word like "liberal", for a long time now everyone who uses the word means something different. Or "Christian", for that matter...
Avatar 6:15pm

really? we can sell power back to the grid if we have an excess.
Avatar 6:15pm

I gotta say it's pretty mind blowing how many people were living in communal setups back in the 60s, dunno if anything could ever be replicated like that on such a large scale
Avatar 6:16pm

They were from Florida and their singer Nasty Ronnie was a part time wrassler. They had a hilarious commercial for a local salon where they pulled up to the salon in a limo and then did an ID for the salon all sitting in the salon chairs

more hippies less hipsters I guess
  6:16pm
P-90:

@glenn: they're actually trying to get that "sale" taxed
  6:16pm
Bly:

Yes... but the power companies are lobbying the government to charge you an extra fee so you can sell it back to the grid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm
dale:

yes glenn, but they won't let you make more than you use.
Avatar 6:17pm
