Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from April 10, 2015 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

It looks like I didn't mis-hear ... why is he suggesting we keep our eyes on the sparrow?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm
listener james from westwood:

True story: My middle school had a detention room w/ a window out onto the main corridor. I was only ever in there once, in 8th grade, for what I'd call justifiable reasons on all sides (the incident and the punishment). My 6th-grade teacher walked by, did a perfect double-take at seeing his perfect-attendance goody-goody student so incarcerated, and stopped in to chat with the penitent. He closed his supportive visit with, "You know what they say, 'Don't do the crime if you can't do the time!'" Was over a decade before I got the reference, and when I heard the song, I said, "THAT's what Mr. Parietti was referring to!!"

tl;dr: I grok Sammy's mouth music.

grass circles around Omaha-the farmers
haul tanks of cream and wagon loads of cheese.

Shale hogbacks across the river at Council
Bluffs-and shanties hang by an eyelash to

Read Marky Ramones knew book. It's not bad. As to the Ramones skills, Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Tommy really were learning on the job when the first record came out. They got much better and Marky was the first real pro in the band.
