Susan Cowsill and the Russ Broussard Duo are playing a free show 7 PM Friday at the Ocean County Library (101 Washington Street, Toms River, NJ). While maybe not Three Chord Monte material, Susan has been a guest on Michael Shelley and Laura Cantrell's programs.

always respected the fact that Nirvana played pretty much none of their hits for their unplugged and in fact, played half covers.

the entire unplugged is worth just for that second when he opens up his eyes in the song's break, and you can see death. scary as hell

no jk77. Haven't seen them...Studio 2 will be rocking with Dead covers tonight so I'm hoping they will be here and worlds will collide.

heard good things about Nirvana doc, but haven't sat down to it yet.
  1:58pm anon coward:

I remember hearing in an old Nirvana documentary that the version of Where Did you Sleep Last Night that Nirvana played was indeed based on the Mark Lanegan version.

The new documentary is okay I guess. It’s definitely well made. I only watched half of it. Hero worship really puts me off these days so I have trouble getting through lots of contemporary music documentaries.
  1:59pm Figures of Light:

Hi Joe,
To quote Carly Simon, nobody does it better!
Avatar 2:00pm d¢ pät:

7:26am addendum to my October 7 "Stepping Stone" comment:

LIVERPOOL FIVE fan MB300TE commented on YouTube that
the LP5's “I'm Not Your Stepping Stone”
“. . . was actually recorded before Paul Revere and the Raiders'. Boyce and Hart wrote the song and gave it to the LP5 first to include on their "Arrive " album [released June 1966]. Because they toured so much, including playing with Revere a few times, they took months to finish recording the album. Revere had seen the LP5 perform the tune as part of their stage act and decided to include it in their own album which ended up being released a month or so before the LP5's.”
------ from www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=-YJQJtC4IO0

Check out the FLIES 1966 version, no month seen.

I'm checking out the library! Thanks David Shortell for the Susan Cowsill tip. . . . . . . John
