@Scott: Good to know, though with this station, "proper speed" is whatever works for the DJ in command at the time. Which is as it should be

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm
fred:

Great news! I'm not going anywhere, so I'm happy that you'll be playing here. I hope I don't have a dance show booked that day. Dance comes first for me, and second, with music a distant third. If there's a conflict I'll try to trade to another day. I have dance shows booked on 10/17/24/28

Warm Jets, the perfect funeral song. At least for me. One of my favourite concert moments ever was a couple of years ago when I saw the Finnish band Circle perform this song as their final encore, an extended, heavy drunken hockey chant. Tears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm
Scott Williams:

@barrie, yes to Circle's epic cover of warm jets!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm
fred:

@barrie: agreed, Circle's version of this song is a great cover. Not even close to Les Reines Prochaines' destruction of Chris Isaak's song though

Opinion: Yes - along w/ the Prog values of bringing musicianship & 'seriousness' about Rawk as Art &tc. - remembered to attempt melodies & good songs as well. Never really a problem w/ these guys, if not massive play & exposure either.

Prog Police:

Just say NO
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm
fred:

The music guru in high school once told me he wanted me to play bass in his band because "some people are made to play, others to listen". That was his way to fire his current bass player. I said "you're right" and haven't touched an instrument since
