i believe part of the problem with US race relations (and women, as we will see once the race heats up with hillary) is when the perceived group in power sees changes they push back with a last blast of fearful feeling of powerlessness. Obama has rec'd the most virulent hatred from republicans because they see him as a game changer and they don't want the game changed...

I remember a couple, Jake. One was where they called phone sex operators (yes, children, there was a time before 24-hour-a-day on-demand porn where they had these 900 numbers, and...well anyway) and asked them all these serious questions about foreign policy and the economy and stuff. That was classic. A lot of them would give serious answers, and then one was like, "Are you kiddin' me?!" (I can hear her gum snapping now.)
