Makes sense William. I think ~everybody~ was blown away by the CSN(&Y) sound. Obviosly they were fans of the "father bands" Byrds/Springfield/Hollies

Early Byrd and Yes fan, but never heard the very first Yes album, found them with Starship Trooper... Byrds cover... Thanks, Bob...

Squire (who had been a kind of "all-star" choir boy in his youth) and Yes lead singer Jon Anderson were both madly in love with that "California" vocal harmony style, from the Beach Boys to the SF folk rockers. Guitarist Stev Howe told me once that fans never guessed that the band which had been the huge-est inspiration to Yes was the Byrds...

Saw one of their early seventies shows with wake an, buford, etc. Steve Howe had a merry go round guitar rack that he spun mid song for different guitar sounds and effect...

Any cut in a Yes song is making it too short. Also, Peter Banks was still there for Time And A Word. Howe joined after it was recorded, before it was released
