yeah, I saw $3 used copies on Amazon, and the CD is still around.

emusic sells something. I haven't been going to them lately. I want to say a couple of different formats.

emusic = mp3s
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm

Hey! I always like ice cream truck jingles. FWIW there is one ice cream truck I spotted in Bushwick that plays a version of “Send in the Clowns” just like this chirpy electronic stuff playing now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm

when i was a teen the ice cream truck song meant we'd have some herb that evening.

Glad there are other fans of ice cream truck music out there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I wonder how many ice cream trucks play "Ice Cream Man" from Van Halen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
coelacanth:

i remember one that had "send in the clowns". because clowns are generally disturbing and because it was really fast and the whole cycle was no more than 10 seconds long, that one i didn't much care for.
  1:51pm
JakeGould:

@coelacanth: Also, the lyrics of “Send in the Clowns” is not really the kind of happy/joyful noise one expects when ordering ice cream. Especially when rendered in electronic bleeps and bloops.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm
coelacanth:

Ken,you mean "ice cream man" by John Brim?!

(sorry- had to say it!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm
Liz Berg:

Dave the Spazz played Jonathan Richman's ode to the ice cream man last week and it was epiccccc.
  1:52pm
JakeGould:

@KenFromHydePark: 100% of 0. But “The Candy Man” by Sammy Davis Jr.? I bet at least one.

Groovy show today, Liz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm
coelacanth:

Jake @2:13 that Send In The Clowns is about the same tempo as the one i knew, but a bit more elaborate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm
Ike:

The only ice cream truck jingle I hear in Sunset Park is that same-old same-old one that makes me want to tear my eardrums out w/a rusty fork & stomp on them, not the cool newer one that Liz plays. The ice cream trucks in north Newark played that cool newer one. So that's pretty much what north Newark had over Sunset Park. Oh and cherry blossoms, I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm
coelacanth:

when i was REALLY little, the Good Humour truck just had a string of bells that were manually jingled when the driver pulled up to a hot spot; while the Little Jimmy truck ("italian ice")had an actual music box with an amplifier.
the good humor truck would often park right in front of our house for 15-20 minutes. now that street has at least 90 cars/minute in the middle of the day.
