Thanks!
Avatar 12:17pm Joe B:

Hi everyone, thanks for tuning in! appreciate it!
Avatar 12:17pm Joe B:

Cheryl, unbelievably, the Old 97s played there as well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Mike East:

never played the Sawmill, but I have had one of their GIANT pizza slices. Think I played the Beachcomber at the opposite end of the bwalk, but their pizza is not as big.
Avatar 12:20pm Todd-o-phonic:

Killer opening set from The People's Champ!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Nice work, Joe, on "Zombie Talk with Chris M" earlier today.
Avatar 12:28pm Joe B:

Thanks TOT and thanks Ken!

Mike, their slices now rival sawmill for size but not quality. though they taste better the later and drunker it gets of course
Avatar 👻 12:31pm David Shortell:

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club once opened for Lord Sterling at the Saint. I remember checking them out to see if they were as good as that other band that bore the name of a motorcycle gang from "The Wild One".
Avatar 12:31pm Todd-o-phonic:

Sunday afternoon DJ?!!? Oh no, did Gaylord fall off the wagon?!!?
  12:36pm Bill in W.O.:

Loved those Aussie band tracks, Joe. Spell out that CA site for purchase?

The Connection playing with The Pandoras at Webster Hall (Marlin Room) on 9/12...night before Monty Hall show!
  1:01pm KP:

Keep hearing a rerecoded Baby Blue by "Badfinger." Close but not true Blue.
  1:02pm Gunther:

Could early Grand Funk qualify as garage? Sean Bonniwell & The Music Machine? I need answers now.
Avatar 1:03pm Joe B:

KP, who is it by originally?
Avatar 1:07pm Joe B:

the iveys?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Frankipop:

Badfinger did the original. Here's a great live performance with Kenny Rogers introducing them!

Avatar 1:13pm InBrkly:

Tuna Taco. That was also an Angry Samoans song. Haven't heard them in a while--adding it to my queue for later.
Avatar 1:16pm Joe B:

thanks, sold off my angry samoans records at the record fair, should have recalled the song titles!

thanks Frankie, that is what I thought also

gunther, i don't know. I like the red album and the todd rundgren-produced hit singles, but that's it
Avatar 1:16pm Joe B:

though I guess terry Knight and the pack had some garage numbers (like the number called numbers) so I guess the answer is yes
  1:18pm Metal Mike:

You sold my records! Bastard!
Avatar 1:18pm Joe B:

I kept the box set CD, i think that has everything
  1:25pm Gunther:

Thank you, Joe. Answer very helpful. Always rain here. Constant Many day. Cloud. Cloud.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Dominick:

Yeah, baby!
  1:31pm Figures of Light:

At last - i get to listen live!!! Go Joe!!!
Avatar 1:33pm Joe B:

boy if any song ever needed a single edit, it was that grand funk cut. i think it was a b-side in some countries?
Avatar 👻 1:33pm David Shortell:

The Angry Samoans played the Jersey Shore twice in the past few years and both times they covered "BBC", the song Ming Tea play in the closing credits of "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery".
I don't think they ever made a studio recording of the tune, however. Or did they?
  1:34pm johnk77:

Avatar 1:39pm Joe B:

David did you see the Von Mons and sharkmuffin at the AP yacht Club?
  1:40pm Amy:

New Holly Golightly! This makes my day.
Avatar 👻 1:42pm David Shortell:

No, Joe, but I might see Sharkmuffin tonight at a secret location in New Brunswick.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Jeff from Rahway:

Thanks for chasing away the Monday blues Joe! I'd rather be down the shore than in the office.
Avatar 1:46pm Todd-o-phonic:

The Vy-Dells song actually does have a title. It's called "Unknown"! That is the actual song title on the 45...guess that's why it wasn't a #1 hit!
Avatar 👻 1:47pm David Shortell:

It appears Holly does perform "Strange Effect" live, as heard on the "Down Gina's at 3" album.
  1:48pm Amy:

Down Gina's at 3! I need to dig that one out.
  1:49pm Emily:

This show is making my day! Thanks.
Avatar 👻 1:52pm David Shortell:

That Holly sure is Kinks krazy. I remember at Maxwell's when she sang "Don't Ever Let Me Go", the early rejected songwriting effort which they recycled into "You Really Got Me"!
Avatar 1:55pm Joe B:

yes, that was great!

thanks Emily!

hi and thanks everyone for checking in/tuning in!
  1:57pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

This cut rules. And LOVED that Woggles cut earlier!
Avatar 2:04pm Joe B:

Avatar 2:06pm V Priceless:

Avatar 2:07pm RebelEars:

I was once assistant tour mgr. to Michael Been and THE CALL. My most embarrassing deed was having to do his laundry, once. EVERY ITEM WAS BLACK. Great guy, tho.
  2:14pm Mark R:

My absolute favorite Honeymooners clip!!!
  2:18pm Amy:

Joe, you could say "Wouldn't It" for that band's name, and no one would be the wiser.
  2:22pm Ralph:

Haaamina Haamina! Great show Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Mike East:

back in the early aughts, we invented a new genre called Streetwave. It never caught on. Turns out we were just playing Rock & Roll.
Avatar 2:25pm V Priceless:

love the 'mooners! The Schmoozer!
Avatar 2:28pm Todd-o-phonic:

The Schmoozer once appeared on The Best Show! Might be pre-archives, probably is.
Avatar 2:29pm KP:

Hey they play this Just Like Paul Revere & the Raiders!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm common:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Stevel:

No harmonica tribute?

[walking out door, shaking head]
Avatar 2:52pm jljl:

Wow, Yesterday Noontime is perking up my ears.
Avatar 2:53pm jljl:

Is anyone watching Aquarius w/ David Duchovny? I think it's getting the shaft being moved to Sat., but it has a great 60's soundtrack. They did the Lemon Drops "Springtime" song recently and other cool stuff.
Avatar 2:54pm jljl:

I also recommend Deutschland 83 on Sundance for a great new wave soundtrack. Helps if you know German cuz reading the subtitles gets tiring.
Avatar 2:55pm V Priceless:

thanx Joe!
  2:57pm Joe B:

thanks everyone!
Avatar 3:00pm KP:

Beavis Front comign to Bkln
