Scratchy vanity 45s, pilfered field recordings, muddy off-the-radio sounds, homemade congregational tapes and vintage commercial gospel throw-downs; a little preachin', a little salvation, a little audio tomfoolery.

Are these the same Golden Gospels who cut that New Home 45?
  8:14pm
JakeGould:

Can I just throw a match in the pile of trash and let nature clean up the parking lot via flames?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
sinner:

New Home 45? These guys were from Decatur, GA. When did the New Home come out?
  8:15pm
JakeGould:

I like the fact the track, “Jesus Christ My Savior” is on an album named, “God Is In Charge.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm

Hey p-90 and Chris. Yes JakeGould, play with matches.

Well I was intrigued to look at pictures of dilapidated buildings through my research of Maudslay state park in Newburyport MA.Great place....BEFORE they tore the main house down in '86. Ever been?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm
chris:

loving the architecture pics...

Here is that Golden Gospels 45, which you've played on your program in the past. Label is out of Georgia, so perhaps the group is as well. http://www.popsike.com/Black-Gospel-45-GOLDEN-GOSPELS-That-Old-Time-Way-CM-CROWN-GOSPEL-HEAR/361209761164.html

Something to say for the Lord...also...my friend [as extracted] from CP playlist on this date....
Religion and politics....what a joke. They don't mix. Any real Christian will say to you "The living God judges those according to what they know to do from right and wrong no matter what god or faith they adhere to. And it was Jesus who did say "You must remove yourself from the world to enter...";Who controls the world? hmmm..let's see Banks, Politicians, Drug Companies, Fox News [Lol]...you know. The true Christians I know wouldn't have a problem keeping company a person of any other religion,'nor would they judge them 'nor try to change them or even think [nevermind even suggest] they were going to a bad place for eternity because they didn't think the way spiritually that they did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm

@Sean. I have not. I will check that out.
@ stranded: I guess it has to be. Will investigate further.

pt2:Hell [as a place to be tortured forever] was invented by the Catholics [over time] to generate money through fear...As if you didn't know that... We need a debate over the perils of Gita worship, in all good humor.

Thanks buddy @sinner.

evening brother kevin and sinners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm
sinner:

Hi jon!
  8:42pm
JakeGould:

@SeanB.: In Judaism there is technically no hell. But you will end up in some place that’s like a lecture hall/movie theater where you are berated and reminded of all of the mistakes you made in your life. So it’s like a painful meeting with a Rabbi that never ends. But it’s not hell. Nope. Not hell at all.

Unlike most Christians I do not believe in hell at all. I do, however believe in the pit [ not for mortals]

The pic of the old man with a walker in front of a colorful church? This is his story; H.D. Dennis. rising.blackstar.com...

i GOTTA GET outta here
  8:52pm
JakeGould:

@SeanB.: One good insight into hell is to look at the backstories/motivations of horror authors. Like H.P. Lovecraft was a racist xenophobe. And Stephen King likes to highlight the lingering hypocrisy of the “normal” American life.
  Swag For Life Member 8:55pm
Lonely Planet Boy:

thanks for that link, JakeGould. I'm fascinated by the signs at that church, which if I remember from a previous Sinner's show, had a sign which spelled it "chutch"; I hear that here in the south.

P-90:

Thanks, sinner!
