Bathing in triggers *is* my safe zone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am
Jeff Golick:

So I guess we can say you're trigger happy, @Artie?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am
Artie Haywire:

Say what you will, but it has reversed my tardiness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am
Jeff Golick:

You'll have to teach me how to do that, then....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am
doctorjazz:

Boy, thought I'd be here early, WOW!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am
Jeff Golick:

There's early (which you are, @doctorjazz!), and there's Artie.
Avatar 11:54am
ndbob:

afternoon Jeff and everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am
Jeff Golick:

Hiya, @ndbob!

listener james from westwood:

How do, Jeff and other hourly magicians!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am
Jeff Golick:

Please let me know of any sonic anomalies, folks, as we just upgraded the home PC and this is the first show since the change.

Hi hi hi, @listener james!
  11:58am
Dean:

Sonic anomaly! S&D&R&R is at very low volume.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am
listener james from westwood:

Volume on Ian is quite low.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am
listener james from westwood:

But happy to have him nonetheless. Second dose of Dury today (hit up Julie's archive this a.m. & she gave us all "Reasons to Be Cheerful"—as her show always does).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm
Jeff Golick:

Hi @Dean!

Thanks for the feedback! Will try to elevate levels --
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm
doctorjazz:

Sounding OK on my end.
  12:01pm
Dean:

Mic level is good, but music stream, not so much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm
listener james from westwood:

Bed definitely sounded louder, and mic is fine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm
listener james from westwood:

Now the music is pretty low.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm
Jeff Golick:

Ok, how's Kendrick, volume-wise?
Avatar 12:05pm
ndbob:

sounds fine
  12:06pm
Dean:

It's comparable to the broadcast stream, but maybe a bit lower.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm
listener james from westwood:

Much better!
  12:08pm
Stealth Oats:

sounds good
  12:09pm
Dean:

My boy needs to hear this cover.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm
Jeff Golick:

Heya and thanks, @Stealth Oats!
Avatar 12:16pm
βrian:

"Elegy" Clever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm
listener james from westwood:

"Myrna Smoot." Yes, I like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm
Jeff Golick:

Ha. Hi βrian, welcome!
Avatar 12:19pm
βrian:

I saw the name "Hieronymus Guru" in a news report today.

In our house, smoot is a verb meaning, to pass wind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
listener james from westwood:

I peaked early on the Elvis count on my first Vegas trip when I saw 3 gents in Elvis mufti in the space of 10 minutes, including a pit boss.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
listener james from westwood:

Please tell me Ms. Smoot married a gent surnamed Hawley.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Jeff Golick:

As far as I know, there is no Mr. Smoot, Hawley or otherwise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Jeff Golick:

Cannot speak to Myrna's smooting tendencies, either, βrian. Fortunately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
listener james from westwood:

At my college job, I saw references in various bits of correspondence to a sales guy named Archer Marx. I'm convinced he was a mercenary or spy undercover.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
Doug Schulkind:

Hello from the hallowed halls of Triscuitville. Sorry I didn't get an email blast out this morning, JG.
  12:23pm
Dean:

Have I been misspelling Elvis' last name all these years?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Jeff Golick:

Hey, Douggulah! No worries.
  12:23pm
Stealth Oats:

middle name at any rate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm
Jeff Golick:

Yowza. Thanks, @Dean! Good looking out.
  12:25pm
Stealth Oats:

that is some weird unpresleylike bg vox mix
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Jeff Golick:

Wonder if that's a function/malfunction of my "upgraded" computer, @SOats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
Doug Schulkind:

Hard to tell on my little mobile (pronounced MO-byle) device, but the volume seems low to me.
  12:30pm
Stealth Oats:

nah the rest was straight, just a producer letting loose
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm
listener james from westwood:

Guessing this track was recorded when he was playing the International (which Kerkorian built, thus the reference). #VegasTrivia #NotVegasObsessed #NoNotAtAll
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm
Jeff Golick:

Ding! Ding! Ding!
  12:38pm
Stealth Oats:

the women seem to like this guy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
Jeff Golick:

Hm. Yeah. You might be on to something, @Oats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
listener james from westwood:

@Jeff: Ahthankyathankyavermuch.
  12:40pm
Dean:

Kerkorian also built the MGM. In 1976 I made my last visit to Vegas, to hear Yes at the Aladdin. My buddies and I were underage, but we ran through the MGM casino dropping nickels in slot machines. I made five bucks. Kerkorian will never get it back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
listener james from westwood:

Is "Trying to Get to You" from the comeback special? It's on FIRE wherever it was recorded.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
listener james from westwood:

@Dean: Hit and run. The only way to beat the bandits!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
Jeff Golick:

Ding! x 3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm

mo-BEEL. Not to be confused with Doug's MO-byle.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Doug Schulkind:

Stuck inside with the Memphis blues? Again?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm
listener james from westwood:

Can't go outside with these 20 pounds of headlines stapled to my chest!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Jeff Golick:

How DO we get out of doing these things twice?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm
listener james from westwood:

It's up to Tony Coulter, who furnished me with tape (hiss).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
Jeff Golick:

Elvis and the Mighty Clamtones.
Avatar 12:57pm
ndbob:

excellent show Jeff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Jeff Golick:

Thanks for indulging me and hanging out, @ndbob!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Artie Haywire:

@βrian: My parents used "smoot" in this way. They hail from rural Eastern NC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm
