That was nice. It's been a long time since I heard that song and enjoyed it. (Overplayed for a few years, there.)
  3:32pm Al:

"No Correspondence": One of only three singles ever on Gemcor.

@JakeGould: Thanks. Anyone doing a cover of this song is doing something right
  4:10pm slowbear:

Oh man what version of circle game is this
  4:17pm shishka bob:

Twas Buffy Sainte Marie - Circle Game
I have a Joni Mitchell promo 7"
Avatar 4:17pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'EveryLittleThing' a.) those lesser-played Rutle trax we love for that b.) reportedly a SirMacca write that Johnny sings lead - unusual...
  4:42pm Al:

The Creation played guitar with a violin bow before that Jimmy Page guy.
  4:51pm shishka bob:

You played the original of Sheila & I Fought the Law. How about Circle Game - was Canadian Buffy Saint-Marie the first to record Canadian Joni Mitchell's song, hmm? (1965, says Discogs, 1970 Wikipedia) . . . backing track for Beau Brummels sounded like Marianne Faithfull's studio band ....

Hocus Pocus !
  4:55pm Noel:

"The Canadian" Gordon Lightfoot did the first version of Bobby McGee that I ever heard back in 69'. He also does a great version of "Pride of Man"
  4:56pm Al:

Great show today, Bill, love the Real Rock & Roll.
  8:07pm Del Rivers:

Bill - Thanks for playing Robin Gibb Is Dying from Darren and McFadden's Parachute...I co-wrote a couple songs under my real name, J. Bulmahn.

This bio-doc clip, “Buffy Sainte-Marie and Joni Mitchell” explains their meeting in the Greenwich Village folk scene, out of which music manager Elliot Roberts jump-started Joni's career due to Buffy pushing a tape of her singing Joni's songs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L42uLBl9uA&t=5m18s

Circle Game was on Buffy's July 1967 album Fire & Fleet & Candlelight.
1970 French film Strawberry Statement popularized Circle Game, so Buffy performed it on the Tonight Show.
Circle Game is on Tom Rush' December 1968 album of the same name which had Urge For Going.
Both Sides Now is on Judy Collins' October 1967 Wildflowers.
Joni's debut album was “recorded late 1967, released March 1968.”
Amongst discarded promo records mom brought home is Joni's Night in the City / I Had a King - worth $10?
