Hello! I wish I had a rocking chair.

Hello I'm enjoying this space.
  7:14pm Ahmad:

Been a while.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Faye:

a good a even-ing all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I always confused Eddy Arnold with Eddie Albert.
Avatar 7:16pm JakeGould:

Nice Eddy Arnold right there.

@KenFromHydePark: Me too… And Arnold Ziffel the pig.
  7:25pm Cooh John:

Hello Faye. Didn't mean to blow your mind last week when you decoded my screen name. The feeling is mutual of all the eargasmic music you play..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm Faye:

i survived
  7:28pm Cooh John:

I saw All Dogs last night!.
Avatar 7:32pm JakeGould:

@CoohJohn: So is this like some “Three Days of the Condor” thing where because me and Faye decoded your handle we need to be hunted down by government spooks?
  7:39pm Cooh John:

@JakeGould: Not quite so dramatic. It gets you into the secret music appreciation society.
Avatar 7:49pm JakeGould:

@CoohJohn: Great! Other than hanging out with Faye Dunaway, “Three Days of the Condor” doesn’t seem like a fun way to spend 3 days.
  7:55pm Ahmad:

Presently wearing a Mantles shirt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Faye:

there's a mantles shirt?
  7:58pm Ahmad:

Maybe they were just selling it on tour? I got it a couple years ago at a show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm steve:

hey Faye. i love the introspective piano music you always get into between hours 2 and 3.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm Faye:

oh thanks steve! hey were you eating pizza in Triangolo the other day?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm steve:

yeah! since Carmine's shut down i eat pizza at Trangolo like every other day. they had jalapeno pizza the other day and it was sooo punishing but awesome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm Faye:

whoops I almost went in but I wasnt sure if it was you, NOW I KNOW also RIP carmines
  8:13pm Carmichael:

How many times can you say, "Damn, I missed Eddy Arnold!" Hi Faye!

this ropers tune is just perfect.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Hey Fayethfuls !...doin' stuff but lsitenin' & appreciating - esp. this gazey Ropers...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14pm steve:

not to get too off topic here, but... so is Triangolo now the best pizza in the neighborhood? its the best i've found so far post-Carmines.
Avatar 8:14pm JakeGould:

@Carmichael: Say it three times in a row with your eyes closed and you will see the ghost of Arnold Ziffel whistling at you in the mirror.
Avatar 8:14pm dk:

"all the time" is one of those records that needs a repress like right now. it's just criminal that it's OOP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17pm Faye:

idk I mean I guess technically Pauly Gees is the best but idk if that counts
  8:18pm Ahmad:

Speaking of NYC pizza, I'm a few chapters into this. Fun read so far. http://www.amazon.com/Slice-Harvester-A-Memoir-Pizza/dp/1476705887

pizza tacos. now there's something im googling immediately
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm steve:

alright well im not taking a microwavable mini pizza and folding it in half like a taco and calling that a pizza taco. no thanks google/internet.
  8:52pm herb.nyc:

I learned of Meat Straw today
  8:53pm P-90:

Excellent music as always, @Faye. So glad I didn't miss Eddy Arnold. I do miss the animations on playlists that don't have them, but I get that sometimes you don't have the time to do a new one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Anyone want to split a mega pizza taco? www.thisiswhyyourehuge.com...
  8:57pm Carmichael:

Ken, that's a 20 pounder! Let's eat!
Avatar 9:00pm JakeGould:

Speaking of Pisces and moons and water and ripples… It’s raining in Brooklyn! YES!
Avatar 9:01pm JakeGould:

I’ve been eating tons better in the past year… But man, I really, really, really have the urge to get one of those 50 piece Chicken McNugget buckets for $9.99 and go to town on it.
  9:02pm P-90:

@Ken: I'm a very liberal, open minded guy, but maybe pizza should just be pizza and tacos should just be tacos. A pizza/taco mashup just seems dangerously close to a true abomination, that might invite the wrath of the Gods, in the form of Montezuma's Revenge for instance...
Avatar 9:03pm JakeGould:

@P-90: “…maybe pizza should just be pizza and tacos should just be tacos.” *that GIF with Orson Welles clapping from Citizen Kane looping endlessly*
Avatar 9:03pm listener mark:

The volume is set to ∞.
  9:03pm ?:

It's the Kamikaze show again tonight?
  9:03pm Cooh John:

Don't do it JakeGould. It isn't worth it.
Avatar 9:04pm JakeGould:

@CoohJohn: I would probably undo 1 year of eating well and 5+ years of build up.
Avatar 9:04pm JakeGould:

Adendum to P-90: www.reactiongifs.us...
  9:06pm Ahmad:

Feeling queasy just thinking about somebody doing this.
  9:06pm P-90:

@JakeG.: on the other hand, you might knock off 50 McNuggets and find that you never permanently lose interest in ever eating them again.
Avatar 9:08pm JakeGould:

@P-90: So I become the fat guy with weird legs at the bus stop who takes naps between steps for the rest of my life?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Bauhaus - ?! Never 'eard of 'em...(I like)...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(...or Birthday Party??...)
  9:12pm Carmichael:

Looks like I will have ALL of your pizza tacos. And start spirulina cleansing tomorrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...you stuff the pizza crust like tacos...it's like a turducken...
Avatar 9:14pm listener mark:

Ponce De Leon walks about the astral plane, searching for the fountain of youth. Foolish! We never get any older, only the space changes.
Avatar 9:17pm JakeGould:

@Carmichael: Would spirulina help on a 50 piece McNugget? I mean, $9.99 for the McNuggets and like $10 for two bottles of spirulina smootnies sounds like a way to balance the world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...once & for all a Ponce a time...
  9:17pm P-90:

@carmichael: or just go all the way and order up a spirulina pizza taco.
@JakeG: Great gif of Welles. In the World of Tomorrow, when t-shirts will have gifs on them, I'll want a shirt with that gif.
Avatar 9:19pm listener mark:

This going to be close!
Avatar 9:20pm JakeGould:

Whoa… “Young Prisms” going shoegazey. Clicking that.
  9:22pm Ahmad:

It's typically easy to tell older shoegaze and newer shoegaze apart but that sounded like 1990.
  9:23pm P-90:

@RRN63: what are your preferred strings for electric guitar (make/model, gauges)?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm Īke:

It's only worth it if the 50 nuggets will sing and dance for you first, @Jake. Otherwise, no, resist, resist, resist! Although I admit I gave in to my urges and got some Malaysian yam cookies a few minutes ago, but somehow I expect those are slightly less toxic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm pacific standard simon:

Gonna make a chowder with hot dogs and tater tots. Will refer to it as "Coney Island Chowder".
Avatar 9:28pm listener mark:

I'm stuffed with dumplings. The problem with steamed dumplings, if you don't eat them right away, they turn into one mega dumpling.
Avatar 9:33pm JakeGould:

@Ike: “It's only worth it if the 50 nuggets will sing and dance for you first, @Jake.” What if I ate them for charity? Like some kid who had cancer and I could raise money by eating food for the poor kid?
  9:33pm Ahmad:

There's a divey-type place in Arlington, VA that sells tater tots slathered in mozzarella. They call them...wait for it...totchos. They're as horribly awesome as they sound. And dangerously inexpensive.
  9:33pm P-90:

Now I feel slightly deprived because I have no Malaysian yam cookies.
Avatar 9:33pm JakeGould:

Totchos? WTF is that name? But man, I want that!
Avatar 9:34pm listener mark:

Many of the DJs will be off for the holiday! Check your newspaper listings!
  9:34pm Cooh John:

BTW Faye, I was blown away at the All Dogs show because I have seen Jesse the drummer at Carabar before! I have some vinyl from Maryn's other band: Saintseneca. Highly recommended and Fayeworthy.
Avatar 9:35pm JakeGould:

Man, Totchos are a thing! Tater tots with crap on them! Who knew? www.thestranger.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm pacific standard simon:

Yep, many awesome recipes on teh internets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Andrew Waterloo:

RIP Wes Craven
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm pacific standard simon:

They're actually based on an old potluck casserole called "Hot Dish".
Avatar 9:39pm JakeGould:

@PSS: It’s not on the Intrernet… Totchos are a real thing in the real world and The Stranger is in your area PSS so you can enjoy these things! Thanks Ahmad for tipping me onto this. Screw McNuggets. I want this stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@P-90: Only this year (say) I have tried going w/ real thick (for electric guitar) 0.13 for a high E (I think it is) - because they stay in tune & have bigger tone. I had to get another spring under the vibrato bridge to handle them. I don't necessarily make sense in any way: I like Pete Townshend & Hendrix & Punk - but I don't use a pick ; I sort of don't add up... It's whatever brand the local had in that gauge...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm pacific standard simon:

Funny thing -- you can't get The Stranger on the Island. I guess it's not worth it to them to bring copies over on the ferry. But the website is fine.
  9:42pm P-90:

Wes Craven? Oh shit. And we lost Melody "Wrangler Jane" Patterson a few days ago. They say these things come in threes, Yvonne Craig first, now this...
Avatar 9:43pm ranjit:

It may be useful to know that Freddy's Bar in south Park Slope sells something very much like Totchos. freddysbar.com...
  9:44pm Ahmad:

The last time I was at the place near me that served them was for a Tuscadero show. Yes, I was able to watch Tuscadero while eating totchos in 2014.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45pm Ĩkє:

Do I have to say for the 300th time that this "deaths in threes" thing makes the least sense of any death-related meme in the history of the universe? More like in 30s or 300s if you count all the people who were ever famous at one point, but whom you've forgotten, or your neighbor has forgotten, or Bob the carpet salesman down the street has forgotten. The famous and formerly famous are legion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm Faye:

what the hell is going on here
  9:47pm cheri:

p-90, I met Yvonne craig once, she was so nice!
Avatar 9:47pm JakeGould:

@ranjit: Tots A La Freddy! Yes!!! And it’s not that far away from me. THANK YOU!

@Faye: All kinds of nonsense like talking about Totchos (Tater Tot Nachos). What was the Mark Robinson band you mentioned? Missed that.
  9:48pm P-90:

@RRN63: 13s! Wow! and you fingerpick mainly? I made a commitment years ago to go "up" to 11s, for bigger tone production and more control, as you say. 13s are just huge, I cant imagine bending them...
Avatar 9:48pm JakeGould:

I met Yvonne Craig at some comic convention signing thing where the Iron Sheik was flipping out and she was genuinely concerned about his stress and well being from across the hall. So cute!
  9:49pm Cooh John:

Just trying to get a grip on death. My grandma told me it is as natural as being born.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Preparing to board the Astral Plane. That's what ought to be going on here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@P-90: ...then I have a real cheapo Strat copy I've been doodling on, w/ real thin strings that doesn't stay in tune & I immediately broke the high E...
- Thing is, you can bend 13s & they don't break, & stay in tune forever. I wonder what Townshend uses w/ his windmills...
  9:51pm sugarwolf:

George Michael yessssssss
  9:51pm cheri:

jake, Yvonne was very nice, wasn't she?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm Ike & the Head of a Dead Ram:

Ha ha, George Michael! This is funny to hear again. It's very lively. I like the production.
Avatar 9:51pm JakeGould:

I love WFMU!
  9:52pm Carmichael:

If I may may jump into the string convo, I use DR pure blues 10 gauge. Handwound and very pure in tone. I use them on 3 Fenders and a Gretsch with a floating bridge.
  9:53pm sugarwolf:

oh I'm missing the VMAs? Whatever
Avatar 9:54pm listener mark:

Well thank you Faye. It was close but we had just enough dream time on the astral plane. See you in a different space, same time, next week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@P-90: ...the tension w/ the thickies is high enuff, it pulls the bridge up slightly - & I can use the vibrato ('whammy') to go up a tad anyhow...
...of all the programs to chat guitarhead junk...
  9:55pm Ahmad:

Just now realizing that this song bares a striking resemblance to Primal Scream's "Movin' On Up."
  9:55pm Cooh John:

Right behind you Ken from Hyde Park. I concur JakeGould: Where Faye's Music is Ultimate!
  9:56pm P-90:

RRN63: you sound like you have a real Knopfler-style approach, fingerpicking everything on a Strat. Mit der chunky strings, even.
  9:56pm Carmichael:

No kidding RR, i have lately been watching the Jeff Beck tribute to Les Paul on Youtube. Extensive whammy bar usage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm Īke & Ram:

@sugarwolf, the inconsequentiality of that rubbish is so intense that it could power a small city. ;)
Avatar 9:57pm JakeGould:

My hero is Dan Flavin because look at all he did just with light bulbs! He made fluorescent bulbs classy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Good night, Faye. Get some happy rest.
  9:58pm Syd:

Good show tonight Faye.
  9:58pm Carmichael:

When you can play the solo to Sultans if Swing, at any speed, you have ARRIVED.
  9:59pm cheri:

Yvonne was a rolemodel to us women!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@P-90 & Carm.: My 'serious' guitar is a Charvel w/ humbuckers - more by luck than judgement, as Julian Cope says...

G’night, Faye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
