Listener comments!

  1:05pm Listener Robert:

I'm just trying to imagine dancing the Twist to the Peter Gunn theme. Heck, they tried to make everything twist.
  1:06pm MidMark:

Peg Gunn Twistin' !
  1:06pm Cooh John:

Poison Ivy of the Cramps collects Peter Gunn. I wonder if she has this version. Thanks for taking me nowhere Rex.
  1:10pm MidMark:

These days, Ivy only collects social security. Their record room should be put in a museum trust to keep the e-swap scum at bay after her end !
Avatar 🌮 1:12pm Mailman Tom:

Poor Peg ! After doing only one movie, Thirteen Women in 1932, she committed suicide by doing a header off the Hollywood sign. The sequel to the film had to be titled Twelve Women.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Gaylord Fields:

As for today's playlist star, one could say she got the "H" outta Hollywood!

No need, I'll see myself out.
Avatar 1:13pm Juke Joint Jonny:

She did make a splash in Tinseltown, though.
Avatar 1:13pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Too soon?
  1:16pm MidMark:

Millicent Lilian Entwistle= P.E. ??? I thought P.E. was for Pacific Electric (which would have taken her to the H base).
Avatar 1:17pm Melissa Jean:

hay yesssssssssss just got home from gettin groceries n beer and JLL is playin!!!!
  1:17pm Mark Dillman:

Great day to clean the carpets with a Rug Doctor with all the windows open and WFMU cranked up above the noisy rug cleaner. Hotter than hell today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Gaylord Fields:

She certainly was a (belly) flop in Hollywood. But you can't deny she knew how to land in Hollywoodland.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Gaylord Fields:

But seriously, I miss the gal.
  1:20pm Mark Dillman:

Poison Ivy was recently photographed at a farmers market in LA babysitting the kids while Deke Dickerson and the other dads where onstage. She looked happy.
Avatar 1:21pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Seriously, it always surprises me the Fool's Paradise comment thread doesn't come with trigger warnings yet.
  1:28pm MidMark:

The Maggie Lee tune has the Kinks Sunny Afternoon riff .

Those big legged women. Yeesh.
  1:46pm Cooh John:

@ Midmark: I would like to see that collection. Someone put out a recording or song list of every song that she and the band credited as an influence. Hello JakeGould and all other fools.
  1:53pm Cooh John:

Loves me some Saturday sax with Rex..
Avatar 1:54pm Debbie D.:

  2:26pm ScottC:

Does the Edinburgh Castle still exist on Geary in Polk Gulch? You could sit at the bar and order Fish
  2:30pm JakeGould:

This “Whip” guy is a rando creeper.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Guido from Cologne:

CD-player doesn't like burned discs today.
  2:33pm ScottC:

...and chips from the joint next door. The bar back would go across the ally to get your order...

Boomer Castleman died on Tuesday. RIP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If you partake of food truck food on your trip, Rex, don't end up with the bugs like Station Manager Ken did on his vacation. You'll be singing "I got the bug!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Jonathan Richman??...
  2:50pm Mark Dillman:

Would SOMEBODY do a compilation on the Casino label? it was run by a guy named Bob Bobo in Topeka, KS. A mysterious label as of yet not anthologized. Thanks for playing the Argons.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm common:

  2:53pm Shawn Garrett:

Shad record label? Like the fish?
  2:58pm Jim:

San Francisco: Digging the boxes at Amoeba Haight Street? Breakfast or lunch at the Pork Store, 3 blocks east. Headed for the beach? Early, breakfast sandwich at Devils Teeth Bakery at Noriega & 46th; late, supper at Old Mandarin Islamic Restauarant on Vicente.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Ack! An egregious technical error!
  3:01pm JakeGould:

@KenFromHydePark: Error? What do we pay the WFMU tax for then?!?!?
