Hello! Sounds good, Jesse. Hi Doug, glad to hear new shows are jumping on here, esp. since there are very few doing so on the regular-flavor FMU schedule change.

Hi hi Ike!

Attempted Indian curry turmeric peanut rice (w/ other ingredients). It's definitely curry rice w/ peanuts, but definitely not Indian, still tasty as hell!
Avatar 7:41pm
Jesse K:

hi northguineahills, did you end up more west Indian that east Indian perhaps?
Avatar 7:45pm
northguineahills:

Pretty much, I had to make substitutions for the daals I couldn't find. I also only had maybe a teaspoon of mustard seeds.

This Tivedi is magical.

@ngh, it may be spicy food Tuesday; I made turkey chili!
Avatar 7:49pm
northguineahills:

Damn, I'd love turkey chili, I need animal protein!
Avatar 7:51pm
Jesse K:

This is all making me realize that I have no real plan for dinner after this... gotta think of something in the next two hours
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm
listener james from westwood:

@ngh, it was actually a reaction to the all-bean chili I made last time. No pun intended, but it just had less body. Definitely something missing.

I do really need to give dal another try. Last attempt was passable.

If only if I could get the missus to eat meat. I made progress from her vegan days and got her to become a pescatarian and eat dairy. But now she's relapsed and won't eat any vertebrates.

I've always dug Henry Cowell.

Actually, she has no problem eating bugs, mostly crickets, marinated in a lime brine. Makes for good tacos.
