Listener comments!

No 91.1?
Avatar 9:06pm Snortley:

Well, it seems they're back to the main transmitter, and off the backup. However, there's still no real programming on it.
  9:06pm JakeGould:

91.1FM is in a zombie state it seems. The transmitter is looping some emergency music playlist. Which is better than an hour or so back when it was completely dead. Stream for real music. LEFTOVERS! LEFTOVERS! LEFTOVERS! LEFTOVERS!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm DJ PB:

We've been having problems with 91.1 all day. Sorry, folks! Stick to the stream!
Avatar 9:10pm Peteski:

What DAY is it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Need to add an input connector at the transmitter site where someone can plug in his/her phone. Bypass the flaky T1 line in times like this.
  9:11pm JakeGould:

@Peteski: It’s Rosh Hashanah! Happy 5775!
Avatar 9:12pm Snortley:

It's a satellite downlink; radio from outer space!
  9:12pm JakeGould:

Whoops, my bad… Been writing 5775 on my checks all day. Happy 5776!
  9:14pm marc15:

Should I email Nachum?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm daupomatic:

I shouldn't have smoked that banana peel
  10:08pm marc15:

Don't encourage you distracted driving
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm coelacanth:

Ahoy Paul and others.

for a moment i was listening to an archive of Chris M. simultaneously and he said "fuchsia" exactly as you said "future".
(i'm easily amused.)
  10:10pm marc15:

Shea Stadium or CitiField?
  10:13pm JakeGould:

@marc15: Funny you say that. Whenever I hear of shows at Shea Stadium I just go back to images of Joan Jett and Ramones playing their back in the day. Whatever cool kid named that venue, my hats off to them for the genius move!
  10:13pm Carmichael:

Che Stadium.
  10:15pm JakeGould:

@coelacanth: Funny you say that. Did you see the video of Doanld Trump saying “China” over and over again? Every now and then it sounds like he’s saying the Yiddish word “Shayna.” www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm coelacanth:

Ha! that's hilarious!
i'll have to watch that whole thing later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm coelacanth:

Jake, i know better than to believe the urban dictionary, but does "shayna" mean "beautiful"?
  10:23pm JakeGould:

@coelacanth: Yes, “Shayna” means face. Typically people say things like, “shayna punim” such as in “Look at that baby! Such a shayna punim!” which means “beautiful face” and Donald Trump never says “beautiful” for anything.
  10:27pm JakeGould:

@DJ PB: And I am seriously on 91.1FM and hearing this show loud and clear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm coelacanth:

he might exclaim "beautiful" at the news of some mexicans being thrown in jail or something.
  10:29pm JakeGould:

It’s funny but a few nights ago I was walking past a car service and they had Jimmy Fallon with Trump on the TV. Folks were watching it and just saying—in thick accents—“Fuck that guy!” It’s great to see a groundswell of bile towards that guy.
  10:33pm Carmichael:

A Fairport cover!
  10:34pm JakeGould:

It’s a nice “Merry-Go-Round” cover at that.
  10:35pm Carmichael:

Emmett Rhodes, yeah
  10:40pm Carmichael:

A pre-cover.
  10:49pm Cooh John:

Helloooo JakeGould and all listeners. DJ PB, any chance for some Ron House or derivations thereof?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm DJ PB:

Too many records this week! Next time, John!
  10:55pm Cooh John:

Thanx. You know I will remind you. Great stuff so far. I am here for the duration. Sorry I missed the Cheater Slicks. An acceptable Cbus substitute.
Avatar 11:06pm BadGuyZero:

Marc Riley has a show on BBC6.
  11:07pm Carmichael:

I missed Game Theory. I used to play in a rival band in Davis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm coelacanth:

what's the bed music? it's a riff from a song that i know but i cannot place.
...maybe originally by the o'jays?
  11:12pm JakeGould:

I gotcha “Cold Beat” right here. midheaven.com...
  11:16pm Cooh John:

Kizzy Hall: Cbus 2x!
  11:21pm Cooh John:

PB filling in for PB.
  11:47pm Cooh John:

Great show. 'nuff said.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm DJ PB:

@coleacanth The bed music is a loop of the opening theme from "Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai" by the RZA
  11:59pm Pat Byrne:

I thought he was the "Nature Boy"..?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59pm coelacanth:

Thanks, but i'm curious where they lifted that riff from. it appears they don't credit the author. it's not a direct sample, but it's the main riff from an old r&b song; which i think also was either sampled in a rap ("hip hop") song in the 80s,or covered by a reggae group.

...anyway Thanks! 'twas a fine show!
