  3:10pm P-90:

So nice to see you continue here on Wednesdays, right where you belong @DJ Irwin. This works.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Irwin:

Before me, there was no such thing as Wednesday 3-6pm. They had to create me to fill the void.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Bronwyn Bishop:

I love me some Peter Ivers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Irwin:

And hellllllo Bronwyng.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Irwin:

This is such a strange album. Odd juxtapositions of voice and instruments.
  3:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(...DJ a drummer maybe?...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Parq:

Hadn't been familiar with the Ivers Band. That was really cool.
Avatar 3:19pm JakeGould:

I caught part of the King Crimson mangling. Where is the rest of the body?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Irwin:

Confusion is your epitaph, Jake.
Avatar 3:23pm JakeGould:

Okay, fine… Be that way… I’ll talk to the wind instead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Ken has already played some Jingle Cats today. We're all caught up on cat music for today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Grok-o-matic:

Diggin this track. Laid back.
  3:28pm Brendan:

Thx for sharing the Benevento. Love a simple piano with some effects. Cool.
Avatar 3:30pm cosmic matrix:

Avatar 3:31pm cosmic matrix:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Yay Brian!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Oh it's the show! I remember this one!
  3:32pm Romeyn:

Irwin? any idea what ken and andy are doing tonight on seven second delay
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm rrg:

It's always better to be surprised.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Something involving pizza and pornography, last I heard.
  3:33pm Romeyn:

I missed ken's show this morning my battery died
  3:34pm Brendan:

Babies on trampolines
  3:34pm P-90:

I heard pornography and pizza, but I guess there's little difference
  3:35pm Romeyn:

after the robot show i thought what will they do to top it?
  3:38pm Romeyn:

anyone interested in seeing a flock of wild geese drinking water from a leaking fire hydrant in river bank state park?
  3:40pm Fredericks:

Hey Hey Irwin. Interesting stuff, I declare.
  3:40pm Brendan:

I dunno sounds kind of porno. But hey that never stopped me. Sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Bronwyn Bishop:

The JFJO are awesome!
  3:42pm Brendan:

Wtf this is awesome!
  3:43pm Brendan:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm common:

hello irwin. all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Bronwyn Bishop:

Sinead and the Supremes: A strangely perfect combination
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Kat in Chicago:

Wow this is a really good mashup.
Avatar 3:57pm Roberto:

Moby Jr!
  3:59pm KP:

Listen my friends, this is fantastic!
  3:59pm The Hip Replacement:

Great segue - Honey Radar to Arwen Lewis.
  4:04pm Brendan:

But when i wake up she looks like a beast. Every time. Damnedest thing...
  4:04pm P-90:

Irwin: Don't forget to test the pH in the water cooler before you go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm common:

joe really knows how to cheer me up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm cory:

Irwin, thank you for doing this.
  4:36pm Brendan:

Pick #56 Joe its obvious
Avatar 4:37pm Chris M.:

i'll never forget hearing this joe frank set on wfmu over ten years ago
  4:40pm P-90:

You knew the Holocaust was going to come into this at some point...
Avatar 4:44pm TehBadDr:

Irwin, the Joe Frank works is something I look very forward to every other week. Thank you for introducing me to the wonder of his diatribe.
  4:44pm Courtney of Morris:

I'm the one listening to joe frank at the gym
  4:46pm Brendan:

This is Joe in his prime. Spot on pacing, tenor, breathing, microphonics and production. Just needs a touch of cowbell ( even thats a maybe).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm Irwin:

Courtney - I've began doing that too. I loaded a bunch of eps in an iPod. It's the weirdest thing to listen to at a fitness center, a complete disconnect from what's going on around you, and it changes the mood of a workout.
  4:49pm P-90:

Irwin: are you having fun, or have you really listened to Joe while working out? I might try that.
  4:52pm Courtney of Morris:

Amen Irwin.
  4:58pm P-90:

I was wondering which FMU DJ would score Arwen (and her Dad!)
Avatar 4:59pm V Priceless:

Rocket From The Tombs @ Monty Hall, 12/5!
  4:59pm KP:

Peter Lewis is the son of actress Loretta Young. So his daughter is her grand daughter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm Irwin:

P-90: Like I said, it's weird. "Fun"? I dunno that working out at the gym is EVER fun. It's discipline, it's a challenge, it's keeping your moving parts moving.
  5:07pm P-90:

@KP Wow.
  5:09pm P-90:

@Irwin: I'm just so conditioned to thinking of listening to music for workouts, the idea of listening to something narrative is intriguing. I'll try it.
  5:09pm tony seymour:

Yo Irwin: After 6 weeks of hurrikane outer band rain we alas have real sunshine today.....the trade winds are blowing again & paradise is like it should be....albeit it is WARMING up quite a bit in the pad.......& That is the Honolulu weather for today......
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm Irwin:

P-90: Unless you're counting reps, it takes your mind off the "chore" of working out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Carmichael:

Got here just in time for the instrospective breathy chick music. Heya Irwin and masses.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Irwin:

Tony, mah man! Glad to hear the skies are clearing and that your archiving project is moving along.
  5:19pm KP:

P90, Lewis was on "I've Got a Secret" and that was his secret.
  5:27pm judy from croton:

Thanks, Irwin. Really like these guys. Heard you play Stephen Fierce, real cool.
You've thrown open another window yet again. That's redundant.
  5:28pm tony seymour:

yeah man.....we added SUNY Buffalo to the mix today.....getting there a day at a time......will be heard in LAX this weekend on the freeways.....gotta hear how it all sounds while driving!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Ken From Hyde Park:

This is a 7SD that ought to be a video episode.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Ken From Hyde Park:

On this day in 1620, the Pilgrims left Plymouth England, seeking religious freedom. I had forgotten that until I noticed The Pilgrim Travelers. I wonder if they'd consider coming here in 2015 or just try to buy their own island somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Carmichael:

Wow, I haven't heard Phil Ochs in a looooong time. I think The Bells was the last song.
  5:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- & I don't know this production of this (not this album)...needless to say, he's a Poet, not just a 'Journalist'...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Parq:

There's a live version, just Phil and a guitar, on a comp that was released in 1978 -- I always preferred that to this orchestrated version. Either way, it's a devastating song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Irwin:

This is the strangest thing Phil ever recorded. Joseph Byrd was the mastermind behind the United States of America (Columbia, 1968). Electronic freakout behind Phil.
  5:43pm P-90:

KP: So Peter Lewis is also the half-brother of Loretta Young's "secret" daughter with Clark Gable. If I knew this about the Moby Grape guy, I'd forgotten it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Irwin:

It almost sounds like a mashup of Ilhan Mimaroglu and Phil Ochs.
  5:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- ah! - that Joseph Boyd.
@Parq: This?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There_and_Now:_Live_in_Vancouver_1968
Avatar 5:45pm dale:

love phil ochs material. his voice is hard for me to take, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Carmichael:

Today is also Mexican Independence Day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Parq:

I'm sorry, 1976, not '78. This:
  5:46pm P-90:

This is wild. Great production and very "progressive" for Ochs. What year? The Psychedelic Era for sure...
  5:53pm rw:

Yeah, that Ochs song is a good one. I also like the one about the Scorpion never returning. I keep trying to get my (mostly younger) friends to listen to Ochs, but nobody seems to get it.
  5:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Phil Ochs doc:
...intense, & he blew apart, anybody didn't know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm common:

thanks rev rab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Carmichael:

Protest music isn't "in" anymore, rw. I grew up with early Dylan, Peter Paul & Mary, etc ... Out of vogue now, I'm afraid.
  5:56pm Fredericks:

This sax is dripping with salaciousness.
  5:57pm rw:

Charmichael, my 20 yr old daughter just saw Don't Look Back in her documentary film class the other day. Seems she was pretty impressed. Good sign, in my opinion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Carmichael:

Wow, good music here. I'm looking for the old stripper ...
  5:58pm rw:

RR1163, Thanks! I didn't know that existed. Jazzed about viewing it soon.
  5:58pm P-90:

That was some high-class tassel-twirling music.
  6:00pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Thx DJ IC !
