I first heard Empty Words as the soundtrack to a dance show. I love this piece
Avatar 6:20am
jeff-m:

just got that, i haven't made it to the end yet. Must have been an interesting dance routine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34am
fred:

@Jeff: yeah, and the crowd reaction on the record made for a weird experience. It's called "Empty Moves" by Angelin Preljocaj
Avatar 6:41am
jeff-m:

I bet. Being in a crowd and hearing other crowds must be a bit odd. Feel like I've experienced that somewhere before , but not sure where

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

May I join this crowd? I think this will do very well this morning...

Feeling under the weather. Therapeutic noise and syrup needed. Couple hour dose first thing in the morning should do.

I wasn't fully paying attention during that last mic break - what was the reference to the Feminist Improvising Group? The only FIG recordings I'm aware of are bootlegs taped off German radio. Would love to hear more (anything involving Lindsay Cooper...)

Listener Robert:

Any idea what The Stunt Show on the JM in the AM stream is like? I see it listed on their new schedule 1-2 PM EDT today. Is it Nachum's version of 7SD or of "Shut Up, Weirdo"?
Avatar 8:15am
jeff-m:

I have no Idea Robert. First I heard of it.

jeff-m:

Hey Elf
I just just was saying that there were also on that compilation. Each "act" gets a side. Checking details...

Just says it was recorded at 16th International Multi Media Festival 22.02.79

here's the album: www.subrosa.net...

i always forget to update the playlist. sorry about that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

Thanks, Jeff! Their first "official" release after all these years. Looking forward to hearing that...

Listener Robert:

Don't sweat it, Jeff M. There are some DJs there who don't even do a playlist except during marathon & the week preceding it, and others who do it only because they have help in the studio.
  8:25am
Listener Robert:

And others who put it up afterwards or in advance of the program. It's a substantial job.
Avatar 8:27am
jeff-m:

yeah, it's not the worst thing I'll do today probably, but my songs are really long :)
  8:28am
Listener Robert:

I sometimes do experiments where I have to do some manipul'n & record an observ'n in a lab notebook, & then another manipul'n, etc., with critical timing. It's not easy keeping up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57am
fred:

Thanks Jeff, I hope you'll be back soon
