Bummed that I missed Cat Power at Webster hall last week.

I hope "Canada talk" means that she covered side A of "2112."

JakeGould:

We’ve taken care of everything… The words you read… The songs you sing… The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes! Sorry, but that’s in my brain since like 1983.
Avatar 12:24am
BadGuyZero:

I'm 99.9% certain that it's going to be 100% legit Canada talk.
  12:25am
JakeGould:

@MaryWing: So is Chan more stable when she performs nowadays or does she randomly just disconnect and stop playing like the old days?
Avatar 12:28am
Mary Wing:

I don't know, Jake; haven't heard any recent reviews. I saw her when The Greatest came out, and she was pretty together then.
Avatar 12:32am
BadGuyZero:

I haven't heard of any issues with any of her shows in a few years so I would assume that she's overcome/figured out how to deal with whatever was causing her performance anxiety.
  12:36am
JakeGould:

@BadGuyZero: Performance anxiety? Errr… Nope. Her issues go deeper. Amazing talent but the performances I have seen of her back in the day were… Erratic at best… If she’s in a better place now, all the better, “ And yet weeks before the record's release, and with her label preparing for her stardom to go stratospheric, she suffered a psychotic breakdown and was hospitalised. She's been on medication for bipolar disorder since then.” www.theguardian.com...

I saw a European interview back when the Sun album came out, and she was a bit loony; it was uncomfortable to watch.
  12:38am
JakeGould:

@MaryWing: Yeah, in the 1990s it was truly a surreal experience.

Cheyenne's shows are great!

The New Pornographers are great road trip music. Roll down the windows and sing along as loud as you can while cruising along some remote piece of highway.
Avatar 1:16am
Therese:

That's because Cheyenne is great!

She is!

Wasn’t Dustin Hoffman that “GONK” droid?

Was that The Ex the one that's playing at Monty Hall next month?
Avatar 2:15am

Yes, that was the Ex that will be playing Monty Hall next month!

I missed parts of the talk on NJ/NJ short hop resorts. The Pines… Man, the Pines… I miss all of that stuff. Now it’s just rotting land or ugly developments.

Hey! I do some deep tech work… And if my body needs a nap, I take like a 90 minute nap and then I wake up and… Boom! New ideas and problems solved.
Avatar 2:29am
BadGuyZero:

How long is your ideal nap? I feel more refreshed after a 20-30 minute nap. A 60-90 minute nap seems decadent in concept, but I usually feel sluggish afterwards.
  2:32am
JakeGould:

I need 60 to 90 minutes. Sometimes 2 hours. But if I am in a workplace, 30 minutes can work.
Avatar 2:36am
BadGuyZero:

I was searching the interwebs for a physical copy of that Sauna Youth/Monotony split single and learned that both bands are comprised of the same people.
