Avatar 12:50pm
Cecile:

Nope, just a hot brine. I soaked the squash in water with about a teaspoon or so of salt in it the fridge because I couldn't get them pickled right away. Put them in a jar with a bay leaf, mustard seed, pinch of thyme, whole cloves, allspice, pinch of nutmeg. I was making a more sour brine so I took a couple of cups out and quickly dissolved some brown sugar in it, maybe a tablespoon or so cause I don't like my pickles real sweet. they turned out really good.

I agree. And Bill Mumy's rapport with the Lost in Space fans and comfort with his own past set an example for people like Wil Wheaton who came up in TV SF.
Avatar 1:02pm

no hot pack. I put them in a clean plastic tub and poured it over the squash and seasoning. Let it cool on the counter and put it in the fridge. No hot pack for me, my kitchen isn't conducive to it. Ready to eat in about 2 days. keeps for up to three months.
