@dale from DIFM comments board -- wouldn't know exactly.. I only have my dial at wfmu.. and sometimes I get it clear, sometimes I get it and it breaks up.. and sometimes its pirated carribean station that is either clear or a bit staticy.. how would I identify CB activity?
  8:04pm
JakeGould:

@bobdoesthings: 100% sure you are not getting CB interference. I remember getting that on VHF aerial antennas back in the 1970s and 1980s. But never once heard that on FM radio to my recollection.

bobdoesthings:

@dale - does CB interfere with the FM signal? thats a thing?

Hi everybody! Sorry, I only know about CB radios as far as I learned from trucker records.

Stuck on a late night at work, Beck. Play it nice.

“Breaker… Breaker… We got a convoy coming down the line and we’re going to ruing your FM signal all along the way…”

I can't help but think of Kurt Russel as Jack Burton in Big Trouble In Little China on the CB radio.. "When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye, and asks you if you paid your dues; you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: 'Have you paid your dues, Jack? Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm

Becky:

Probably y'all have heard the pleas before, but as you'll notice, we're in (silent) fundraising mode here at WFMU. I'd love not to play my records in the dark on a crank-up Victrola, so if you have a few bucks to spare, just clicky on that Pledge button over there. Thanks!!

...i guess my feet don't match. : (

i always have two cigarettes and an ashtray stuck in my head constantly... not sure if you're a Patsy fan
  8:30pm
JakeGould:

The cigarette comment makes me think: Would a country artist vape? Or use an e-cigarette?
Avatar 8:31pm

Asheville Jon, have you heard the Live at JD's album? I absolutely adore it.

TimBk:

Becky, my only complaint with your show is that it isn't long enough! Who is that as your avatar? Looks like Veronica Lake, but I'm not sure...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm
Asheville Jon:

Don't think I have Becky
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm
Becky:

TimBk - it is V. Lake, yeah! And Jon, you should track it down - it was released within the last 20 years, from live recordings from a bar in Arizona. It's spontaneous and surprising and just classic Waylon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm
Asheville Jon:

But i see it's on youtube, so i'll check it out there. thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm
Parq:

Thanks, Miss B. Twas great-times. Make mine a wine instead of a beer, but otherwise, we're on the same page.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm

and if you like "later" Waylon, the Waylon Live (Expanded Edition) is really great too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm
