I remember when the blackening trend hit the suburban chain restaurants. It did seem a bit, uh, inauthentic. But you can still find it, at Redondo Beach's Ragin' Cajun, for instance.

Bread takes a terrible beatin' from many fists. Not sure why. Not a fan in particular, but the band and music seem undeserving of so much contempt and lashing in the longer view and RELATIVE to what else was out there in the same zone and period.
