The Brothers Nazaroff
Revisit a Folkways Klez-cult Classic!

The Brothers Nazaroff are an intercontinental klezmer supergroup inspired by a 1954 Folkways Records 10" that has become a cult classic: Jewish Freilach Songs, by the mysterious outsider Russian-American Yiddish-language troubadour Nathan "Prince" Nazaroff.

This Sunday night (October 25th) they're celebrating the release of their tribute to Nazaroff, The Happy Prince (Smithsonian Folkways - featuring a 44-page booklet with artwork by Ben Katchor and an essay by Michael Wex) with a big show at the Ukrainian East Village Restaurant, 140 2nd Avenue.

And we get a preview with three of the Brothers Nazaroff - Daniel "Danik Nazaroff" Kahn, Jake "Yankl Nazaroff" Shulman-Ment and Psoy "Pasha Nazaroff" Korolenko - performing live tonight on WFMU!

Also tonight: WFMU’s Singles Going Steady - global-style!
