Mornin', @duke!

Jeff Golick:

Just received an email from Jeff J -- sad to say, he awoke with a fever, sore throat, and no voice! So, alas, it'll be a one-Jeff affair today (on mic, anyway; we did plan the show together).

doctorjazz:

Hi all! Solo Jeff today, hope Jeff J feels well soon.

Waddya know? A call for refrigerator service keeps me at home this morning, where I can listen in. Please send Jeffpardy to Jeff J!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am
Polyus:

@Dean - is your refrigerator running?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am
Sam Segal:

Hiya Jeff, glad I could drop by for a little live D:O for once this morning. I like what I'm hearing.
  11:31am
Dean:

@Polyus: It's limping. Actually, the problem occurred on Saturday, and then suddenly reversed itself. Right now the vitals are all good. But I'm sticking with the service call, hoping for a well-tuned KitchenAid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am
coelacanth:

this piece is a bit like some Somei Satoh music i've been enveloping myself in lately.
  11:36am
doca:

Hey, @JeffG, I was here between lunch and a nap but I can say today's a great show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am

Hello to @Dean, @Polyus, @Sam, @doca, and @coelacanth! Wonderful to see you guys.

@Dean: will indeed send to Jeff J.

@Sam: excellent (though we're not always so single-minded).

@ngh: they seem to be fetching a pretty penny at places like discogs.

Coincidentally: inconstantsol.blogspot.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am
coelacanth:

Jeff,i've heard stuff that was very minimalist piano music; but what i've been listening to is Margaret Leng Tan playing his work, and 2 tracks on the album are quite like this now- only with waves of extreme intensity.
...well,like that, a minute ago.
  11:50am
Dean:

There's another Satoh worth exploring, Toyohiko. He's a lutenist and composer grounded in early music. Really curious stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am
coelacanth:

hmmm. i WILL check that out,Dean. Thanks!
Avatar 🥁 11:55am
duke:

Great show really enjoyed La Monte Young
  11:55am
Dean:

Look for the recordings by Alba Musica Kyo, featuring T. Satoh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am
coelacanth:

that Leng Tan playing Satoh album ("Litania") is one of my favorite albums. and now i have the cd too, which has another-minimal piece; plus the full 18-minute track that was edited to around 9 minutes on the record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am
coelacanth:

Thanks Dean,i will.

Thanks Jeffs!
ciao people
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am

Great suggestions; will investigate further, @coelacanth & @Dean. Thanks!
