Rambutans look interesting, but they're pretty much just lychees on the inside.

Tropical fruits are cool. Well, some are, and some just look interesting. You can find rambutans, lychees, dragonfruit, durian, mangosteen, etc. sold on the street in Chinatown when in season. First two look wildly different on the outside but have similar translucent flesh on the inside. Got to sleep now, g'night!

yup the Paradiso is a music venue here in Amsterdam. Going strong since 1967. We had Patti Smith and Yo La tango pass through our doors last week.... ;-)
keep up the good work WFMU!

The Paradiso got a shout-out from Frank Zappa, on a bootleg from 1971, as a good place to get some nookie.

@pacific standard simon: Ah, the rare Zappa reference on WFMU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43am
pacific standard simon:

Digging into the David Wiffen story, he reminds me of Nick Drake -- but he's still with us, although not really productive these days. The story's not finished, maybe.

Thanks for another great show, Jeff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am

@joeray - You can bet that if I had a show, there would be a Zappa reference on nearly every episode.

Hi Jeff. Just now finishing LAST week's show, but had to chime in sometime, as i'm never up live. The Avant Ghetto is a bright young galaxy in the FMUniverse. One of the most consistently great shows around; nuff said. Thanks and see you in the archive : )
