Visited six northern NJ supermarkets looking for Tapatio hot sauce, none of them had it. Go one town over and find it. Where? A BODEGA. The intro does not lie: Bodegas are our friend.

LOL, that's a great story, James

And I did try our town bodega, a little shop mere walking distance from my place that has lottery tix and a bevy of Mexican products. No deal. Then I remembered this other hole in the wall around the corner from a similarly teeny Mexican restaurant. Boom.

I am mighty excited about this show, Gary!

by weird coincidence, this track - and the song I just mentioned, Fire Engine, were among the first ever songs I ever downloaded off of Napster.

it really wasn't that strange, except for the electric jug, which is just downright bizarre.

That Jandek documentary was my first introduction to him. One of the big selling points in that film seemed to be that nobody really knew who he was. And almost as soon as the documentary was released he started playing out.
It sort of killed a little of the mystique.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm
Gary:

Cklequ! There's a new documentary coming out soon, I read
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm
Rich in Washington:

I remember becoming somewhat aware of Jandek via Forced Exposure, just individual album reviews and then heard him on Weirdsville, a really cool, early internet stream.
I just thought it was a joke. I finally got hooked with the song Painted My Teeth.

Roky documentary 'You're Gonna Miss Me' :
www.youtube.com...
- of which I blurbed:
I've read 'Eye Mind' about The 13th Floor Elevators & all - so I was basically aware of these matters - but this film leaves me feeling gutted, & disoriented! Roky is surely one of Rawk's great talents - as both perhaps its' greatest vocalist & as a unique songwriter - & the way his struggle thru Middle Class American dysfunction & institutional terror interweaves thru his artistry is a tale w/ resonance & relevance like no other. A must-see & a heavy.
