Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Gaylord Fields:

That's trash!
Avatar 3:04pm V Priceless:

heya Matt! Yep - PF Sloan RIP....got that Jimmy Webb-penned Association track on deck?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Mike Sin:

Hi Matt!Glad to be listening in real time today! Spent a good part of yesterday afternoon listening to PF Sloan... that "Measure of Pleasure" period....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm MattBelow:

Hey V! That is in thee works
Hey Gaylord and Mike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Gaylord Fields:

@Matt: Nowhere else I'd rather be than here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Carmichael:

Heya Matt M and music fans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm MattBelow:

Hey Carmichael!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Mike Sin:

Wilson Pickett's catalog is filled with amazing cover versions (e.g. Born to Be Wild, Sugar Sugar), but I can't believe he never cut a version of "Born on the Bayou" -- I feel CCR wrote/cut that track specifically with him in mind!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm MattBelow:

@Mike Sin: Man that would've been a killer track for him to do. Even Travelin' Band
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Mike Sin:

Well all right -- Finally somebody flipped over the "Brown Eyed Girl" single! Nice one, Matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm MattBelow:

@Mike Sin: Gem hidden away on the B-side for sure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Mike Sin:

re: "Tell Me"
Tracks such as this make me feel less self-conscious of my own backing vocals! ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Gaylord Fields:

@Mike Sin: It aways sounded to me as if someone accidentally opened the door to an adjacent studio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm MattBelow:

@Mike Sin: Ha! Also electronically reprocessed for stereo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm Mike Sin:

@Gaylord -- IIRC, I think half of Keith's vocals are "scratches" from the original take being picked up by his acoustic-guitar mic. That backing trck became the master and then even more vocals were put on top later.
Avatar 3:33pm V Priceless:

nice Move cut!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm MattBelow:

@Gaylord and Mike Sin: It's their "This Boy"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Gaylord Fields:

@Mike Sin: So that explains why Keith Popeye-mumbles his way through so many early Stones tracks.
Avatar 3:40pm V Priceless:

love the dr. feelgood version of this too
Avatar 3:41pm Dominick:

Hiya!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm MattBelow:

@V: Dr Feelgood hard to top!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm MattBelow:

Hey Dominick!
Avatar 3:44pm V Priceless:

@ Matt: agreed 100%!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Gaylord Fields:

Yeah — Melanie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Mike Sin:

Weird side note -- there's a clip out there of Keith Moon introducing Melanie at the Isle of Wight festival. Go figure.
Avatar 3:57pm V Priceless:

Cool! Yay Association! Fun show - thanks Matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Mike Sin:

Great to have heard it live today, Matt. Best regards to you, Gaylord, and the other listeners/posters here. Cheers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Glynis GirlGroupGirl:
