great to hear Deke talk about PF. Phil was a good friend, I played the Bottom Line in NYC with him in '85. we did a bunch of older tunes but the only Baggies number was "Summer Means Fun." and he did slip into "Kick That Little Foot Sally Ann"! I've been to Phil's house, it was modest but had a wonderful spirit to it. he also told me that Mums (the label of "Raised On Records," the early '70s LP in question) asked Phil to try singing lead on "It Never Rains In Southern California" but he froze at the session. I think it was the same track as the Albert Hammond version. I feel that Phil would have sounded great on it. but I think he wasn't into singing another writer's song! RIP Phil, you were one of a kind and a sweet, sweet soul.
