Violin virtuoso Hanna Khoury is Music Director of Philadelphia non-profit Al Bustan Seeds of Culture, dedicated to sharing Arab culture through the arts. He'll lead Al-Bustan's Takht ensemble, joined by singer Dalal Abu Amneh and contemporary choral group The Crossing, at a big concert Saturday December 5th at Bryn Mawr college. It's the culmination of a season-long project, Words Adorned, blending ancient and contemporary musical and poetic forms. Hanna is also an in-demand accompanist for artists from Fairuz to Shakira - and he's pursuing a doctorate in ethnomusicology. He'll still manage to find a little time to visit with us on today's show.
