I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Avatar 5:36pm Mayuko:

Welcome on board, Dave B! How are you?
Avatar 5:37pm Dave B:

Doing well thanks! I was a bit sluggish this morning.

BTW - I'm pretty sure Bjork used that slug video on her last tour. Saw her at Governors Ball and the visuals we all sorts of goodness.
Avatar 5:41pm Mayuko:

oh I wouldn't be surprised at all if she used that slugs, Dave. That's totally like her!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Carmichael:

OK, so now I know ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Gary:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Happy little slugs on the sidewalk on an early morning summer's day. All is well until someone steps on the little buggers.
Avatar 6:04pm Dave B:

correction.... Bjork used these SNAILS, not slugs on her Vulnicura tour.

Kind of like slugs with backpacks....

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm steve:

hey Mayuko!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Charlie:

I just watched the mating leopard slugs video. Beautiful! Reminds me of some of the beautiful science films by Jean Painlevé, the ones that Yo La Tengo scored music for. There are some amazing underwater creatures in those films.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm listener james from westwood:

@Mayuko: A quick run for a few days down to Atlantic City. Won a bit of next year's Marathon contribution!
  6:09pm Dean:

Hijokaidan used a photo of mating snails (that, or domestic quarreling snails, hard to tell) on the reverse of one of its jewel cases: http://www.discogs.com/Hijokaidan-Windom/master/722860#images/9238757
Avatar 6:10pm Mayuko:

ah, thank you for your 10 min for listening to my show, northguineahills! Hey steve! welcome on board!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm Gary:

One of my favorite albums
Avatar 6:13pm Mayuko:

Good evening, Charlie! Do you remember the title of that film? I'm curious.
Avatar 6:14pm Mayuko:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Gary:

Hi Jeff! I do love the Slits, but I was responding to the Ryukyu album
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm Carmichael:

Were any ants harmed in the making of that film?
  6:28pm Jeff g.:

@Gary: Ah! I shoulda known...
Avatar 6:29pm northguineahills:

Thanks Mayuko!
  6:31pm Dave B:

I don't think so Carmichael. I know they used a cow's eye for that one sequence with the razor
  6:34pm Jeff g.:

This is superlative chopping music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm Carmichael:

Yikes, I remember that opening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm steve:

absolutlely love this song--great karaoke tune, especially for the very drunk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm Carmichael:

This song needs more synth cowbell!
Avatar 6:47pm Mayuko:

haha, I totally agree, Listener142985! Now I wanna go to some bar in Queens and do that right now!
Avatar 6:47pm Mayuko:

(because Queens in NYC feels like the right place to do such thing)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm paul b:

Ok I've fought it for this show so far, but now with this Talking Heads song I'm Happy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm Ken From Hyde Park:

When I do karaoke, I want to perform the theme from the Banana Splits TV show. www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm Gary:

Ernst Haeckel was amazing, yeah
  6:57pm Dave B:

I usually ham it up with Lou Rawls "You'll Never Find"

It's right in my range
  6:58pm Listener142985:

absolutely--Queens would be perfect. In Brooklyn it would be received as ironic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Carmichael:

For karaoke, I totally own "Crazy Little Thing Called Love".
  6:58pm Dave B:

I had a flexi of that song Ken. I think it was on a box of Honey Combs
  6:59pm Listener142985:

Mayuko, no apology needed. Most of my favorite information is useless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm listener james from westwood:

Thanks, Mayuko!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Dave B - That sounds familiar to me, too.
@Mayuko - Thanks for the show tonight. Hope you're feeling all better by next week!
Avatar 7:02pm Mayuko:

ahh thank you all for the comments, much appreciated!! Hope to see you all next week!
Avatar 2:37pm fred:

"Chant De Louanges Avec Guitare Et Voix (Femme)" means "Songs of praise with guitar and voice (female)". Some praise should go your way, your show is such a staple for me. I never hear it live, but I always catch up. Thanks again for the Okinawa song, but that's only the tip of the iceberg as to why I love your show
Avatar 6:45pm Mayuko:

Thanks fred, it's always really encouraging to know that you're there and listening. That okinawan comp is pretty fun stuff! Always a pleasure to play music from there, and more coming!
