Avatar 12:07am Wm.:

damn right
it's a very effective 56 secs.
Avatar 12:09am Wm.:

Least favorite Buffy character? ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10am Bronwyn Bishop:

Drusilla all the way, yours?
  12:10am SiHV:

Listening from San Francisco
Avatar 12:11am Wm.:

either Andrew or Harmony ... though Drusilla sure is annoying; I probably give her points for being at least a Goth chick....
Avatar 12:12am Wm.:

SiHV I hope you have a chance to raid the Amoeba metal section—don't forget tapes!
Avatar 12:16am Wm.:

Avatar 12:21am Wm.:

Buffy character, I mean... did we lose Bronwyn?
Avatar 12:22am Wm.:

...others are invited to weigh in on this critical topic. More important than GOP debate....
  12:25am Bklyn kid:

Whatever happens with Gop, well always have metal. thank god.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am Bronwyn Bishop:

I'm here! My favorite is Oz, yours?
Avatar 12:27am Wm.:

They can't take our metal away! ...though I'm not sure we have god to thank ...
Avatar 12:28am Wm.:

Ooh Oz, the perfect werewolf boyfriend! ...I guess mine is Angelus...SO EVIL.
Avatar 12:29am Wm.:

I guess he cheated with that werewolf skank band girl, so not totally "perfect" ... Tara was better for Willow, not counting the death & all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29am coelacanth:

greetings Wm.
and castle dwellers
Avatar 12:33am SiHV:

Sadly not sure I can make it to Amoeba but maybe if I can escape my work colleagues. Or, bring 'em along.
Avatar 12:33am SiHV:

Very much digging this Wende track.
Avatar 12:39am SiHV:

The beard does not make one look young. But. The chicks dig it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40am coelacanth:

women i like like beards, but i don't think i look good with one. (not that i don't have facial hair.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45am Bronwyn Bishop:

Others should join our Buffy conversation! :D
  12:46am JakeGould:

My Buffy conversation: Like Radiohead in the 1990s, I don’t care about Buffy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am Bronwyn Bishop:

Boo Jake you philistine :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am coelacanth:

i'm not qualified to say. i've seen it 10-15 times (which is a lot for me) and i had some favorites, but the last time was around 8 years ago and i'd have to look up the names, which i wont do right now.
  12:47am Bklyn kid:

whats Buffy?
  12:47am Arvo:

Cruel Intentions
  12:47am Bklyn kid:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48am coelacanth:

okay i did see that halloween episode IT WAS AMAZING!
  12:48am Ike:

Loved Buffy. But The Master wasn't even the best TV show archenemy called The Master, let alone a favorite Buffy character.
Avatar 12:48am SiHV:

I never really watched Buffy. I did however sink two hours last weekend into watching recent Doctor Who. And what a fucking waste of time.
  12:49am Tulpa:

my fav episode of Buffy was that one where no one could speak though I never finished watching the series
  12:49am JakeGould:

@BronwynBishop: I think Sarah Michelle Gellar was hot. So there you go!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50am coelacanth:

she was hot! she probably still is.
Avatar 12:50am William:

Cruel Intentions haha yeah I seen it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51am Bronwyn Bishop:

True that, Jake...
Avatar 12:51am Wm.:

Dr. Who is, as they say, rubbish.
Avatar 12:54am Wm.:

I always had the crush for Willow....
Avatar 12:54am Wm.:

love those nerdy girls
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am Bronwyn Bishop:

Besides Oz, the one I had the biggest crush on was Spike :D
  12:56am Arvo:

Fairuza Balk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56am coelacanth:

if willow was the one with reddish hair, me too. that's probably the only reason i gave the show a chance...not being much of a tv guy. i didn't see Buffy's beauty right away.
Avatar 12:57am SiHV:

Moonspawn good. Carry on.
  12:57am Ike:

Dr. Who has lots of ups and downs in quality. Watch "The Doctor's Wife" (by Neil Gaiman). Lots of rubbish episodes too though.
Avatar 12:57am Wm.:

Just saw Fairuza Balk in that Richard Stanley documentary...she's a handsome woman, very attractive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58am Bronwyn Bishop:

The Doctor's Wife scared the crap out of me! Hate Amy...Kill Amy...Die Amy...
Avatar 12:58am Wm.:

...I saw FB on Hangin' With MTV once, Carson Daily asked what bands she listened to, she said, "oh you know, like Black Flag..." Eternal cool.
Avatar 1:00am Wm.:

John Ritter had a great Buffy episode ...he dates Joyce and turns out to be, what, a mechanical man or something?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00am coelacanth:

the quiet ones have the bluest flame.
  1:01am JakeGould:

The only Dr. Who is Tom Baker. Period. I don’t want to hear about any of these new Doctors. Also the Daleks are the only villains ever. Period. Screw the Cybermen and anything else new.
  1:02am Ike:

That's the one that got me into Buffy. I couldn't resist the concept of Ritter as a robot villain. Good stuff.
  1:04am Ike:

Now I know you're trolling us, Jake. The Daleks were barely in the Tom Baker years. Get outta town you joker.
Avatar 1:05am SiHV:

JakeGould: Yes.
  1:08am JakeGould:

@Ike: Unlike you children of today I watched Dr. Who the way it was meant to be watched: Randomly/sporadically on WOR Channel 9 when there was nothing else to do on a weekend afternoon. Here is Tom Baker hanging out with Daleks. FACE! ia.media-imdb.com...
  1:08am TR:

This castle is my home. Thx William Berger.
Avatar 1:09am Wm.:

Dr. Who shit just got real.
Avatar 1:10am SiHV:

And we could totally wrest control of the comments board away from Mr. Berger with a discussion of hottest Doctor companions.
Avatar 1:10am Wm.:

Thankyou TR, my pleasure
Avatar 1:11am slugluv1313:

ahhhhhh music to disembowel to!
Avatar 1:12am SiHV:

Hell yeah, this is good.
  1:12am JakeGould:

@SiHV: Sarah Jane Smith. Who else? NOBODY. Also K-9.
  1:12am Ike:

Leela! Savage companion (of Tom Baker!).
Avatar 1:13am SiHV:

No man. Leela. I have a trope for the ass-kicker girls.
  1:15am Bklyn kid:

I recall k9 from the comic book. Doc overthrew the purple aliens usurping Caesar. Never could stomach the tv show.
  1:16am Ike:

Nice Dalek promo shot, Jake. It's not from an episode though. "Genesis of the Daleks" is a classic but barely has any Daleks in it. "Destiny of the Daleks" is rubbish. Most pathetic Daleks ever.
Avatar 1:16am SiHV:

Emma Peel: Also an ass-kicker girl.
  1:17am JakeGould:

Avatar 1:19am Wm.:

this is like a daytime playlist ... mealtime discussions up next
  1:20am JakeGould:

@Wm.: Not exactly. Nobody is randomly talking about Art Bell or their personal history with Scientology yet.
Avatar 1:21am Wm.:

thank g_d.
  1:22am JakeGould:

“Space Trucking” cover?
Avatar 1:22am SiHV:

I could complain about how the hotel i'm in has no room service and i'm too lazy to go out and get any food.
Avatar 1:23am slugluv1313:

i may have seen a few episodes of Buffy, same with Dr. Who (although i do remember when Dr. Who was on channel 9!) guess i just never got into either of them
now "The Avengers," hell yeah! one of my Mom's (few) favorite shows (she was not a huge TV watcher either)
Emma Peel: BEYOND kick-ass COOL! a HUGE early influence/inspiration, way more than those other unfortunately silly/wimpy female characters back then . . .
Avatar 1:24am SiHV:

Or comment on the lifestyles of the super-wealthy in San Francisco in apartment high-rises across from me. They all seem to be watching things on their very big TVs.
Avatar 1:24am SiHV:

instead, i'll dig the tunes.
  1:25am Arvo:

Teen Wolf
Avatar 1:26am Wm.:

@Arvo you know you're an 80s kid when ...
  1:31am Arvo:

I never watched Twilight Zone or The Munsters in their color rehashes. At least give me that.

I did watch Tales from the Crypt and Friday The 13th (the show), but did not watch Twin Peaks.

I'm just on favorite characters because I didn't watch the Buffy show at all. I do remember the movie.

I did watch the Outer Limits in color, still prefer the black and white version.
  1:33am JakeGould:

“Space: 1999” anyone?
  1:37am JakeGould:

Yay! Dr. Helena Russell! Commander John Koenig!!! And that old guy!!!! SPACE: 1999!
Avatar 2:14am slugluv1313:

PRIME MOVER!!!!!! oh yes!
Avatar 2:17am Wm.:

vocals very Peter Murphy / Iggy
Avatar 2:24am slugluv1313:

hah! i may have thought that "PRIMEMOVER" was IGGY when i first heard it, so many many years ago (still have the 45, do not recall when/where i bought it though)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35am coelacanth:

i really like this.
Avatar 2:39am Wm.:

Thanks yes, this impressed me right away. Heard it earlier in the record library for the first time, jumped online & bought a copy. $ is always tight but when your hear something you've gotta have you know pretty immediately, or at least I do. Midwich (label) did all kinds of crazy great releases this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41am coelacanth:

i'll check out their stuff for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48am coelacanth:

midwich is on bandcamp. different midwich i guess...looks like a guy or a band. i bookmarked it anyway, since i trust serendipity to some degree.
i've got the label's site up now.
Avatar 2:51am Wm.:

It doesn't appear that Midwich is doing digital-file sales, but if you buy any release ($20 a pop, but all pretty damn good) you get a download code with the vinyl. I believe they are headquartered in Michigan.
Avatar 2:52am Wm.:

whup Chicago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53am coelacanth:

Wm. i'm sure you remember Paul Cavenaugh. (sp?) -i used to record lots of his shows, but often ruthlessly edit them to save tape. he had a lot of fun butchering the back-announce so as meticulous as i was, i still have lots of question marks on those tapes.
...you just identified one song for me. prime mover.
Thank you!
Avatar 2:54am Wm.:

The Moon Pool and Dead Band 2LP is great, another of my 2015 hits...Magas, too. And their upcoming stuff looks super-interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55am coelacanth:

Thanks. i'll look into those first. 20 bucks is a lot right now but sometimes that changes quickly.
Avatar 2:55am Wm.:

Funny story, Paul and I grew up across the street from one another in West Orange, NJ, but it was a wide street, we went to different schools, and never met until WFMU. One of our legendary punk shows tbs. Paul's "Mouthpiece" cassette was also a favorite on my old Lo-Fi segment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57am coelacanth:

oh damn! that sound hazily familiar.
-and that is funny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59am coelacanth:

("mouthpiece" does; i definitely recall the lo-fi segment, now that you remind me.)
...Thanks Wm.
'night people.
