Sun. Dec 22nd, 3pm - 5pm:
The Unsolicited Return of the Winter Soul-stice (fill-in for Paul Bruno)
(More info...)
You can't stop the seasons from turning, and you evidently also can't stop an old dog from performing his one old trick. Answering the teeming clamor of one New York Times food columnist
, Gaylord Fields is returning to WFMU's airwaves for a one-off Winter Soul-stice program. In his time away he's learned nothing, so the format will remain the same: two hours of original 1960s soul 45s, and the abuse of an expensive reverb machine for the sake of corny vocal effects.
December 20, 2015: The Winter Soul-stice 2015, with Debbie D.
I just want to say to Gaylord, Debbie and everybody on the comment board SEASONS GREETINGS! also it's great to be here, sweet soul sounds on a sunday! thanks Gaylord and Debbie!

P-90:
Soul-utations, Honored Guest DJ Debbie D and Gaylord! So cool to be with you guys "live" again this year.
Always love the Winter SOOOOOUL-stice, you two! Tonight, it's a great soundtrack to accompany Wizard of Oz, which is on TNT right now, with the sound off.
@sugarplum fairywolf: Never forget! I hope Facebook lets me overlay some Solstice thing on my Avatar on Monday so I can properly memorialize the Solstice.
It would be nice if someone made a video of “Big Bird” with the narrative being that Big Bird works for a local restaurant, and Eddie Floyd is secretly ordering a nice meal that Big Bird has to deliver to Eddie Floyd’s baby’s home.
I especially enjoy the "Chekhov's Gun" aspect of "One Eye Open" -- if there's a boiling pot in Verse One, it'll wind up being dumped on someone in Verse Two.
