@MichaelShelley: I think the trend towards idolatry of nonsense spaces is a bit nuts. So with you on Tower Records; I have fond memories of going to the one on West 3rd Street and Broadway in NYC, but all of those spaces were dumpy retail spaces. Honestly all record stores is and are that way. Who cares?

I grew up in NYC and there are TONS more places that should have been preserved but now are gone. Landmarks preservation is really a bizarre game of real estate that I’ev grown to question.
