Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

The Eagles  Already Gone   Favoriting On The Border  Asylum  1974  MP3  Interesting reading from WIki - ""Already Gone", which is four minutes and 13 seconds long, was written by Robb Strandlund and Jack Tempchin. In the liner notes for The Very Best Of, Glenn Frey said that Tempchin sent him a tape of the song through the mail. Tempchin had already written one of the Eagles' previous singles, "Peaceful Easy Feeling". "Already Gone" was one of the first songs that the Eagles recorded after they moved to Los Angeles, and it was produced by Bill Szymczyk. Frey was the lead vocalist.New guitarist Don Felder played a Les Paul Special and provided the song's solo lick."
Thank you for listening to this episode of The Dusty Show on WFMU. I have to admit, when this show ended, I was a little disappointed in it. I think it's because I look forward to doing the show so much evey week that when things don't go according to plan, or if I fall short of my expectations, it can be deflating. At any rate, I enjoyed picking out the music for you and taking some calls. I am less confident without Fabio's presence it would seem. Not sure why. I' have always worked better with a foil. But, I do LOVE the challenge of flying solo.

I know that one thing is true. I am used to editing pre-prepared shows where I just come in, press the button, and it's all controlled and as I want it. So, when I do a live show, my tendency is to get anxious and try to hurry everything along because sunconsciously I am trying to edit reality in the moment, if that makes sense. And if all of this sounds quite horrifically self-absorbed, I suppose it is. What the heck. ----- I have been meaning to get outside and do interviews, but to be honest, it has been COLD in NYC. And the day job, sigh, ... Thank you for listening. Thanks for your email. Phil emailed me. That was nice. dusty@wfmu.org ------------ I am glad that you are out there, reading this, somewhere. Smiles to you. Always remember ... Buffin and Glenn Frey. As flippant as I can get on the air, these losses sting me. Don't let me fool you. CPNYC1231699LAOYP

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm
Marcel M:

I can't quite have fun at resorts in places like that... kind of weird.
  6:29pm
Dean:

@Marcel: I have a pretty tolerant palate, but a few factors contributed to my not entirely enjoying them. First, I dined alone, and I walked quite a distance to get to the Buckhorn, so I was tired when I got there. Second, I ordered an entree in addition to the "oysters," but either dish was more than I could eat alone. Third, they were fried, but not quite to perfection, as they say. Seemed kinda slimy. I don't remember exactly how they tasted. This was a long time ago on a trip to Denver. (Dined another night, though, at a great Russian vodka cafe.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
Marcel M:

@Dean: Slimy... oy, say no more. Yeah if they aren't fried enough I can imagine them being bad. I have a friend who liked them a lot. Depends on the place, and its not good trying that kinda stuff when you are too full for sure.

GentBenital:

Clay, why do you insist on focusing your time and energy on Trump or Palin? For such a "liberal" guy you could be spending some time asking people if they know about Bernie Sanders or why we keep electing cozy Wall St politicians, but you'd rather keep up with the focus on fear mongering and stirring up dead-end conversations about Palin, even though polls indicate that Trump would be beaten badly by both Sanders or Shillary (especially the former.) If that's what you're going to talk about might as well stick to just playing music.
